The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Reviewer. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog. I mostly use it to catch everyone up on real-life shenanigans, latest book hauls, and how things have been going in general.
Random News And Goings-On
Well, I am slowly getting back into blogging on the regular although I have yet to jump into blog hopping, haven’t done any pre-scheduling, and I also haven’t written a dang review in ages. Still, I’m having fun coming up with posts for the Wyrd & Wonder challenge prompts! I hope to ease back into some other blogging things this week. In the meantime I’m also enjoying getting some reading time in.
This weekend I dedicated most of my time to reading. The weather was chilly and rainy and cloudy most of the day yesterday so perfect for staying in and reading. I’m planning on reading most of the day today as well and really just finishing off as many books as I can. I still have this month’s TBR to start and last month’s TBR to finish as well as a couple of review books so it’s going to be a bit of an uphill battle but I am trying to have faith in my reading capabilities haha.
In life–work has still been crazy busy which is stressful but at least I’m still feeling productive and useful there so it’s not entirely a bad stress. My kitty Lily is hanging in there for now. She’s on some meds and seems to be responding okay to them. She’s not really doing any worse so that’s good but it’s only a matter of time so I’m just taking things day by day. She’s eating well and is quite feisty, throwing some punches at Loki cat when he tries to invade her territory (which is hilarious–imagine a tiny 4.5 lb cat running up and smacking a 17 lb chonker). Anyway, life has been a bit stressful still but I’m making do because what else can you do about it?
New Book Arrivals at Way Too Fantasy
Physical Books
No new physical books this week! But I’m sure to have some arrive by next update because I have hella pre-orders for this year (I think between special editions and regular pre-orders and ebook pre-orders I have something like 20ish books on order–things may have gotten a little bit out of control. Yay stress shopping?)
Ebooks
Two new ebooks have joined the ranks!
Earth Roars by Kara Jaynes which is the 4th or 5th (I can’t recall, whoops) in this silly but fun series about a post-apocalyptic Earth invaded by space Elves. And then vampires show up because of course they do. Also, yes, you read that right–space Elves. Reading this one now, and may even have it done by the time this posts. Like I said these books are a bit silly but damn if they aren’t highly consumable.
The second book I picked up last week is Meet Cute Diary by Emery Lee. This is a YA LGBTQ+ rom-com and I am here for it. I just love romance and I am sure I will find a way to read this one soon. I’ve read a number of YA romances lately and most of them are pretty cute and deep into the feelings which I really love.
Audiobooks
Still on hiatus from buying new ebooks but I’m slowing getting through my queue so hopefully soon I’ll be adding some new ones to my library.
That’s the news for this week, see you next time!
Sometimes a daft, easy read with space elves and vampires is precisely what the mind needs.
Exactly! π
I am dyinggggg over Meet Cute Diary. I have a huge list of books that I’m buying for Pride this year, and it’s 10000% on the list because the summary had me gushing, and I’m so excited to read it!
It looks soooo cute and I can’t wait to read it!
I think I need a complete hiatus on books. Catch up with all the books already on my kindle. That could take some time though – and imagine all the books I’d miss. So, maybe not (well that was a short lived plan).

LOL! I often have these thoughts too. The only reason I did audible is because I could save some money while I spent time catching up with my queue. π
