The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Reviewer. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.
Random News And Goings-On
Not much going on this past week if I’m being honest. The start of the week was a little rough with some things going on at work, but those were smoothed over by the end of the week. Things outside of work have been okay. Just been tired and feeling like I’m busy a lot even when I’m not. The weeknights have been a blur. What even happened this week? I don’t know haha. Some very minimal blog post writing, and that’s about it. I did stay up super late on Friday night and veg on the couch most of Saturday because I started watching a kdrama and sometimes you just have to watch the entire thing all the way through, whoops.
New Book Arrivals at Way Too Fantasy
Physical Books
I’ve got two physical books to add on to Mt. TBR, both pre-orders. September and October are the months of pre-orders apparently haha. So we have here Gideon the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir and The Imaginary Corpse by Tyler Hayes. Very much looking forward to both of these for very different reasons. 🙂
Ebooks
I’ve been very good, no new ebooks this week! Phew! (Not to say I wasn’t tempted by a few sales, but I resisted.)
Audiobooks
My pre-order of The Ten Thousand Doors of January by Alix E. Harrow came in this week through audible. I’m super excited for this one and I hope to get to it soon. I feel like I’ve been hearing buzz about this book all year.
Posts to Check Out from the Book Blogging Community
Kal @ Reader Voracious has a great list of spooky books in her post 6 Books to Haunt You this Spooky Season. Take a look if you’re looking for some horror tinged reading recs.
The Orangutan Librarian has a fantastic discussion post once again! This time discussing if all art is fanfiction. I guess if you peel back the layers enough you could definitely make this argument. Very interesting and though-provoking post.
Witty and Sarcastic Bookclub has a fun post discussing books you may want to pick up and read before they’re tv shows titled How to Become a Hipster Reader, lol.
Caitlin @ Realms of My Mind has great post about Learning to Embrace Self-Published Fantasy. Really love this post.
Kathy @ Pages Below the Vaulted Sky has a great review of Katt Cho’s The Wicked Fox and why the book meant a lot to her as far as representation.
Mogsy @ Bibliosanctum has a spotlight and giveaway for Prophets of the Ghost Ants and The Prophet of the Termite God by Thomas Carlton. Who doesn’t love a giveaway?
Tanya @ Motif by Tanya has a great intro to manga post that I encourage everyone to check out if you’re a current reader of manga or thinking about getting into it. Lots of great titles listed there.
Evelyn @ Evelyn Reads has a fantastic little post about the importance of DNF’ing books. This is something I rarely do myself. Maybe I need to get better at allowing myself to just…put a book down when it’s not working for me instead of powering through lol.
That’s the news for this week, see you next time!
I would love to have a copy of Gideon the ninth! And I’m curious if the ten thousand doors to january is good on audio, because I might try that as well!
And thanks for listing me here 🙂

You’re welcome! Hope you get to enjoy both soon. 🙂
I do love that cover for Gideon. Hope the inside lives up to the outside.
Lynn 😀
Thanks, me too!
I have two of those. Gideon the Ninth and The Ten Thousand Doors of January. Both look amazing.
Hope we both enjoy them! 🙂
I’m almost finished with The Ten Thousand Doors and it’s amazing! I think it will be perfect for audio, have fun😁
Thanks, I’m looking forward to it! 🙂
Thanks so very much for including me in your list!
I hope you love The Ten Thousand Doors Of January as much as I did.
You’re welcome! I’m sure I’ll love it. 🙂
I can’t wait to see your thoughts on all of these!! And wow, so many great posts, I’ll have to check all the ones I haven’t seen out☺️
Hopefully I’ll get to them soon. I’ve been in a slight reading slump.where I can’t get past this one book I’m supposed to be reading lol. I might have to dig into one of these instead and take a break. 🙂
Awww, I’m sorry! I totally know how that feels, I hope it goes away soon💜
Thanks, Kaya!
😀 Thank you!!!
You’re welcome!
Curious what you’ll think of Gideon the Ninth! And The Imaginary Corpse sounds so cool! I debated whether to request that one, but I resisted because I already had so much on my plate. Also, Angry Robot books have been kinda iffy on quality lately, so I’ll wait for your thoughts 😀
I picked up The Imaginary Corpse because some of my friends insisted I would love it and I trust their recs so I have high hopes, it wasn’t really on my radar lol!
Thanks for the shout out! Looking forward to seeing your thoughts on Gideon. 🙂
You’re welcome! Not sure of how soon I’ll get to it but I’m definitely looking forward to checking it out for myself after all the reviews I’ve read.
hehe I definitely need to get better at DNFing 😉 Thank you so much for sharing my post!! I’m glad you thought it was thought provoking!
You’re welcome, happy to share!
