I found this tag over on Zezee With Books and thought it looked like a ton of fun so I decided to fill it out! Credit to Kimberly Faye Reads who created this tag! 🙂
An upcoming release you wish you could get your hands on right now
Grave Importance by Vivian Shaw
I’m so excited for this one I might cry when it finally comes out. Not much longer to wait now, thank goodness!
Favorite series starter
The Vampire Knitting Club by Nancy Warren
Want to read a book that’s a cozy supernatural mystery with knitting and vampires? This one is aptly named and I thought ‘surely this is ridiculous’ when someone recommended it to me, but it’s become my new obsession. This is such a fun series and I love it, book one definitely hooks you right in. 🙂
A book that gave you all the warm fuzzies
Nice Dragons Finish Last by Rachel Aaron
I love this series so much and you can’t help but fall in love with Julius, the main character. He’s a very nice dragon, after all. You also can’t help but root for him. This is one of those books that feels like a warm hug and just makes you happy.
A book that made you ugly cry
The Oddling Prince by Nancy Springer
I don’t know what it is about this one that hit me right in the feels, but it did. I pretty much sobbed through the entire book because I connected with the feelings of the main character so well. I was a mess reading this one, lol.
Bookish hero or heroine you want around to protect you in real life
Mia from The Nevernight Chronicle by Jay Kristoff
I know Mia is an assassin, but I’m pretty sure she’d make an awesome body guard. No one is getting through her. No one.
A book you intentionally spoiled for yourself
I don’t think there’s a book I INTENTIONALLY spoiled for myself. I mean, maybe Game of Thrones? But if I was spoiled on purpose it’s only because someone was talking about it and I didn’t care about spoilers, not that I was intentionally seeking them out.
A book you wish you could make everyone read because you loved it so much
The Last Sun by K.D. Edwards
I LOVE this book so much. It’s just so much fun, and it’s got feelings too! And action! And a found family. And awesome world building. And a little bit of romance.
A book or series you wish never ended
Blackthorn & Grim trilogy by Juliet Marillier
I love this series so much I wish it could go on forever. Of course, I guess I’m cheating using this one since The Harp of Kings just came out and that one takes place in the same universe. I got my wish! 😉
A book with an uplifting ending or message
The Goblin Emperor by Katherine Addison
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, this is one of the most hopeful books I’ve read. It has some terrible things that happen but there’s this thread of ‘things will be better in the future’ that runs throughout it. It’s just….perfection. ❤
A book you wish you could forget you ever read
Exile by Anne Logston
I don’t even know where to start with this one, it was just bad. The character was suppose to have growth but I don’t think they learned anything or changed at all by the end. Honestly one of the most annoying books I’ve ever read. Welp.
An author whose books always get you out of a slump
There are probably a few authors I could name but I’m going with Stephanie Burgis. Ever since first reading Snowspelled last year I’ve been addicted to her writing. It’s just the thing for getting me out of a slump!
A swoon-worthy hero or heroine
Aeduan from Bloodwitch by Susan Dennard
I don’t know this one was tough, I don’t often swoon over characters and when I do it’s usually ones in an unhealthy relationship because yes, I am that girl. Anyway, I kind of love Aeduan and really his storyline is the only thing keeping me going with this series. I know also he’s more of an anti hero but whatever this is my list so lol.
A book that caused you to stop doing all other things until you finished it
The Cruel Prince by Holly Black
Well, I read this one straight through. And then I had to go out and buy the sequel the next day and read that one straight through. Not sure what it is about these books but they’re completely addictive. 🙂
A book that was painful to read (for whatever reason) or broke you
The Dragon Republic by R.F. Kuang
This one was painfully good. Also left me broken at the end. R.F. Kuang–you know what you did.
A book that had you laughing out loud
Swordheart by T. Kingfisher
I expected to love this one because it’s a fantasy romance, but what I didn’t expect was for it to be so hilarious. I LOVE the humor in this book, it’s so good. I was laughing a lot through this one. Great read.
A book that made you want to send it (or your e-reader) flying
Royal Assassin by Robin Hobb
I think I actually DID chuck this one across the room at one point. My total hatred of Regal and how he always seems to get away with EVERYTHING in this book had me so freaking frustrated that I took a three year break before picking up the next book in the series, lol.
Bookish world you wish you could visit
I’m going to cheat here and say ‘none’. Honestly, SFF worlds always have so many problems, they’re no better than our own PLUS they often have other dangers from magic and or monsters. No thanks!
A book with a shocking twist or ending
The City of Brass by S.A. Chakraborty
Holy crap the end of this book. Holy crap the end of the second book. I am SO looking forward to book three, you don’t even know. The first book I thought was pretty average but the end was so amazing it totally bumped the rating to five stars for me, it was just that good.
A character death that destroyed you
Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo
Well, if you’ve read this series then you know and I don’t have to say anything. You know.
Best series conclusion
Within the Sanctuary of Wings by Marie Brennan
I thought this was a great conclusion to a great series that pulled together the overarching story elements throughout the series. This was a satisfying end. I’m still glad a new book set in the universe came out, though. 🙂
That’s it, phew! This was a VERY LONG book tag, LOL. Not tagging anyone in this, but if it looks like fun then consider yourself tagged. 🙂
This is such a fun tag!! 💚
I had a lot of fun filling it out! 🙂
I might try it if I can remember😂 great answers by the way💜
Thanks! 🙂
Your welcome😊
Lol at Regal! Ugh! And the stuff he got up to kind of reverberates through the series and makes things difficult for Fitz.
I need to get on those Stephanie Burgis books. I really think I’ll like them.
Oh I loved reading this tag 🙂 Great answers!

Thanks, Evelyn!
Wow, such an awesome post – The Goblin Emperor – I need to read it very soon.
Lynn 😀
I hope you’re able to check it out, it’s one of my favorites. 🙂
What a fun tag! And yes, I’m totally with you on Regal 😉
Thanks, I had fun filling it out. Ugh, Regal! Lol
Omg your answer for the flying one. 😂 I probably lost like 5 years of my life after finishing Royal Assassin (+1 year for each subsequent reread :P). But I couldn’t have survived a three year break. I needed to know Fitz would be okay!!
And whenever someone asks which SFF book world I’d like to visit, I just tell them the 100 Acre Woods. I’d have to be really, really incompetent to die there. Probably.
I don’t often binge a series straight through, if I do then it’s because it’s a lighter or quicker read and/or I am totally and completely immersed. I can’t do it with epic fantasy, and the Hobb books especially because I want to reach into the books and hurt certain characters lol!
100 Acre Wood! That’s a good one! I’d probably get into fights with Tigger thoug . Although I am also essentially Eeyore so maybe I already live there…. 🙂
I don’t really binge series nowadays either unless they’re really quick reads/romance series. Hobb’s ROTE books were kind of an exception! I literally read nothing else for four months. 😛
Oh wow, they must have been totally engrossing!
Crooked Kingdom – Yes we know …
😭😭
Oooh this tag is awesome! And I think I would rather have Mr. Kindly than Mia tho I love them both ❤ Great answers!
Hah, Mr Kindly would be awesome too! Thanks, I had a lot of fun filling this one out. 🙂
I so hear you with Regal! When I finished that series I went in a hiatus with epic fantasy for a loooooooong time!
On another note this tag is fantastic and there are a ton of good books. I have almost all of them on my wishlist and, sooner or later, I would read them all!
Yeah, Regal is so frustrating, purposefully so! Ugh, hate that guy lol. Thanks, this was definitely a fun tag to fill out. 🙂
I’m so curious about oddling prince and goblin emperor! Definitely agree that cruel prince was addictive!
I highly recommend The Goblin Emperor, it’s a great book. The Oddling Prince is one that I absolutely loved, it struck a chord with me, but I know it’s one that won’t be a hit with every reader. 🙂
Awesome- I have it on my kindle and am very excited 🙂 Ah good to know! 🙂
You have such great taste!
Hah! Thanks. 🙂
