The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Reviewer. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.
Random News And Goings-On
Last week wasn’t too bad. No major mishaps. Maybe my curse is finally winding down? One can hope! Work was a bit stressful since I was the only one in sales but luckily there were no major customer problems to solve and some days were even pretty slow so I managed to sneak in a lot of reading time on the down-low (ebooks on my phone are a blessing). We had our air duct cleaned at the house on Thursday, which meant a lot of prep beforehand to ensure the cats were out of the way, safe and secure. I got up super early and then stayed up super late and I think I’m still playing catching up from that. So….tired. Aside from that, my weight loss is still going well, down to around 257 from 286 now so that’s almost 30lbs down! I still don’t see much of a difference, but I’m fitting into certain things I couldn’t fit into before and some things feel a little looser on me.
I’m still behind in blogging but working to catch up a bit this weekend in between reading and some house work. Hoping that the next several weeks will be less stress. I know this coming week my coworker is going to be out again at the end of the week but at least it’s just two days and not all five again, and going into a holiday weekend we should be slow, I’m pretty sure I can handle it.
New Book Arrivals at Way Too Fantasy
Physical Books
Well, this cat wouldn’t get out of the way while I was trying to take a picture of my new books in my picture taking spot so this is the result.
I signed up for OwlCrate and my first box came this week. I got House of Salt and Sorrows by Erin A. Craig. Very much looking forward to checking this one out.
I also got a book for review in the mail. I love random bookmail! This one is The Vine Witch by Luanne G. Smith. I’ve added it to my TBR pile for this fall. Thanks much to 47 North and the folks at Wunderkind PR for sending this one my way, much appreciated!
Audiobooks
No new audiobooks this week, but I did pre-order two September releases when my audible credits came in. 🙂
Ebooks
I did pick up a few more ebooks, mostly because of sales. I don’t know when I’ll find the time to read all of these, but at least I will never run short of reading material. This past week I picked up the following:
- Desdemona and the Deep by C.S.E. Cooney
- Velocity Weapon by Megan O’Keefe
- Lake Silence by Anne Bishop
- Kill the Farm Boy by Kevin Hearne and Delilah S. Dawson
Posts to Check Out from the Book Blogging Community
I sound like a broken record here about how I need to get better at blog hopping on a consistent basis…well, maybe now that most of the crazy days are behind me (hoping) I’ll be able to work in some daily hopping again.
Kelly @ Another Book in the Wall has a great post covering some useful features of Goodreads that we may have overlooked.
Pippa @ The Little Book Owl is talking about different bullet journal spreads for book bloggers. I really appreciate this post, because I love the idea of a bujo and this is actually a great reminder that I need to update my own.
Kristen @ superstardrifter has a review up for one of my new favorites – The Harp of Kings by Juliet Marillier.
Kal @ Reader Voracious has a great post on what makes her pick up a book. This is such a good topic, and we definitely have a lot of overlap. 🙂
The Orangutan Librarian has another great discussion post, this time about being a mood reader. Oh boy, I can relate to this one.
Well, that’s all my news for now. Have a great week everyone!
I love this post, it’s so satisfying to see all the different aspects of the week in such an organized place haha. I can’t wait to see your thoughts on House of Salt and Sorrows!
Thanks! 😀 I hope I get a chance to get to that one soon, we’ll see how it goes my reading ambitions sometimes get away from me, lol
Yea!! Good vibes hopefully coming in as the “curse” goes out. 😀 Hope the week goes well for you.
Thanks, so far so good. I’ve been enjoying this beautiful weather while it lasts. 🙂 Hope you have a great week, too!
Yup, I don’t think book shortages is going to be something we will suffer from.
Lynn 😀
It’s the only reason I look forward to blizzards and getting stuck in my house. Maybe I can whittle down that TBR pile. LOL
I got a surprise copy of The Vine Witch too! I hadn’t heard of it before it showed up, but it does sound like it could be interesting!
Yep! Most of the time I do wind up really enjoying these surprise book mails so looking forward to checking this one out. 🙂
Velocity Weapon! Read that one!!
I’d like to get to it soon, we’ll see. Maybe December. 🙂
I’m glad you had a better week and congrats on 30 lbs! That is super impressive, keep it up!
Thanks, Brittany!
Happy to hear our curse may have broken, and your cat should be in ALL book pictures moving forward! What a precious bean! I really hope you enjoy HOSAS as much as I did, it’s the perfect fall read.
Thanks for linking to my discussion too, and hope you had a great week! (I am almost caught up on hopping praise be)
