This Week in Reading: What is Even Normal Anymore?

Hi all. Last week was another stressful one although after Monday it was more of me just accepting with ‘maybe this is how life is now’ and I somehow made it through. It was another full week with my bosses both out sick and me trying my best to run things while they were gone. I think I did okay all things considered. One of my bosses called me yesterday and he sounds a lot better and he got tested and is showing negative so he plans on coming back to work today. So we’ll see how that goes.

Anyway, last week I did promise to show so pics of my redecorated dining room. I moved some furniture, got new curtains and table linens, moved some wall art, got some new wall art, got a chair for the corner of the room. Overall it is very cozy and now I can sit in there in comfort and read while enjoying the atmosphere. One of my friends said I was about one step away from looking like a bed and breakfast–I’m choosing to take that as a compliment lol.

I also found some Fall decorations later. This weekend I had a lot of fun drinking tea and eating snacks using some of my dishes–sometimes you just want to pretend you’re a little bit fancy.

ANYWAY. Let’s get to reading. I did manage to finally finish the last two Vampire Academy books by Richelle Mead. I…had no idea there was a spin off series! I don’t know if I’ll read those or not. If I do, it won’t be for a while because I have quite the backlog of books to read. And they just keep coming!

Over the past week I received three books in the mail. A Spindle Splintered by Alix E. Harrow, an ARC of You Sexy Thing by Cat Rambo, and the latest volumen of Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card by CLAMP. Who knows when I get to any of these but maybe soon–one can still be an optimist despite all evidence to the contrary.

Not sure what I’ll be reading this week. I may reread Winter’s Orbit by Everina Maxwell because that’s our book of the month for our HEA bookclub over on r/fantasy for October. And really you can’t go wrong with a reread of a book you enjoyed. On the other hand I’m still in the middle of the latest Elantra book by Michelle Sagara still and there are literally at least 50 books in piles around here clamoring for my attention. So we’ll see where my mood takes me–hopefully somewhere good! What are you reading this week? Leave a note in the comments, I’d love to chat.

Your friend is right, you have the most adorable little space, and it honestly looks staged! It’s so well thought out and put together and charming! I’m so impressed, haha.
