Anticipated Book Releases of 2021

There are a lot of books to look forward to in 2021, this list is just the tip of the iceberg! Some of these I’ve featured before and some of them you’ll see featured in the future as we move into the new year. I’m excited for all of these! Some are sequels and some are new series but all are going on my TBR. 🙂

  • The Witness for the Dead (Goblin Emperor #2) by Katherine Addison
  • The Unbroken (Magic of the Lost #1) by C.L. Clark
  • The Nobelman’s Guide to Scandal and Shipwrecks (Montague Siblings #3)by Mackenzie Lee
  • Soulstar (The Kingston Cycle #3) by C.L. Polk
  • In Deeper Waters by F.T. Lukens
  • The Galaxy, and the Ground Within (Wayfarers #4) by Becky Chambers
  • Fireheart Tiger by Aliette de Bodard
  • The Mask of Mirrors (Rook & Rose #1) by M.A. Carrick, Marie Brennan
  • The Jasmine Throne (Burning Kingdoms #1) by Tasha Suri
  • She Who Became the Sun (The Radiant Emperor #1) by Shelly Parker-Chan
  • Fugitive Telemetry (Murderbot #6) by Martha Wells
  • A Desolation Called Peace (Teixcalaan #2) by Arkady Martine
  • A Song With Teeth (Los Nefilim #3) by T. Frohock
  • We Are Satellites by Sarah Pinsker
  • The Gilded Ones (Deathless #1) by Namina Forna

I’m not even going to attempt a book buying ban in 2021. It didn’t work out this year so I can’t see it working out in the new year, especially when there’s so many awesome books coming out! What books are you most excited for in 2021? Leave a note in the comments, I’d love to chat!

How you put these books together, the colours look very satisfying!

I had all these good intentions to spend 2021 reading what I own, then looked at what’s coming up and rapidly compromised to ‘…or 50% ARCs / new releases’. As for my ‘no commitments in 2021, kthxbye’ I think I’ve got an ARC to review per week until March already… What’s that saying about good intentions?

2021 seems like it’s going to be such a good year for fantasy! I’m so excited for The Witness for the Dead, The Galaxy, and the Ground Within and The Jasmine Throne, and I’m really intrigued by The Unbroken, The Mask of Mirrors and Fireheart Tiger, too. Here’s hoping we both enjoy all of these!

It’s really shaping up to have a ton of great releases–it’s exciting! I can’t wait to read some of those. And although I know The Witness for the Dead won’t be exactly Goblin Emperor–it will be nice to be back in that world. 🙂

I’m also looking forward to Fireheart Tiger! I actually have an arc awaiting me on my Kindle and will probs open it up fairly soon 😀

Other than that the two books I’m really salivating over are A Master of Djinn by P. Djeli Clark (he has been cemented as one of my favourite writers this past year, he’s just phenomenal) and Fonda Lee’s Jade Legacy. I thought the first two books in that series were out of this world incredible. Do I recall correctly that you tried Jade War and didn’t really vibe with it, or was that someone else?

Fireheart Tiger looks soooo good. I pre-ordered it as soon as I could haha. I look forward to your thoughts on it!

Oh, I really do want to read something by P. Djeli Clark soon, I haven’t read any of his stuff yet. I do think I have one of his books in my TBR. I also have to catch up with Fonda’s series–I’ve only read the first one, not Jade War yet. The first one I thought was okay but I wasn’t blown away. It also could have been my mood at the time because I read it back in March or April when I was working from home. Hoping I’ll enjoy book 2 better. 🙂
