I decided that I’m not doing a TBR for December. I had already decided some time ago that December would be dedicated to mood reading. Usually the last year of the month works out to be mostly mood reading anyway as I power through trying to read as many books as possible to up my final goodreads total for the year. Of course, usually this is due to me being close to 200 books and wanting to cross that threshold, but I’m no where near that this year. What can I say, 2020 has been an odd year, to say the least.
So, what might I be reading this month? Well, who knows? I did have some books I wanted to try and get through before the end of the year so I may be pulling some titles from that list. I also have my TBR that I’ve been trying to battle all year and there are sequels to catch up on on as well. Not to mention I really should be trying to make progress on my 2020 bingo card that will be due April 1st. All that being said, I’m not going to worry about any of that and just let my mood totally dictate my reading. I do have one single book for review which is an audio and I don’t feel stressed about getting to that one at all. I have pretty much ZERO reading obligations in December and it feels great!
I really look forward to reading whatever I feel like this month and I encourage you all to do the same. 🙂 Let’s let 2020 end not as most of the year went, our actions dictated by outside forces, but let’s take control of our reading destinies and just….be happy and chill reading whatever makes us happy and chill. Cheers to you all and have a fantastic month!

I hope you have a great reading month!
Thanks, Evelyn! I hope you do too!
I had the vague intention to do the same but it didn’t work out that way 🙂 Enjoy!
Thanks! Maybe you’ll still get some mood reading in…one ca hope!
Yay for mood reading! I’m going to do the same, although I did make a TBR because I can’t help myself😁
Habits are hard to break ahahah. Have a great month, Tammy!
December is my mood reading month too – problem is, I have a huge TBR to choose from, because it’s also my catch-up month! What I feel like many books? 😀
LOL. Well, I also have a HUGE tbr so…I can relate. I’m trying to play catch up with some books from earlier in the year as well, but it feels nice not to be on any deadlines. 🙂
Mood reading rules my entire time so I more than approve your choice 😉
I feel like mood reading is going to be the way for me most of the time going forward. 🙂
I haven’t done a TBR the last couple of months, partially because my reading pace has been off and I don’t even know what I can get through in any given week! I’m going to keep it kind of freeflow into January, then hopefully get back on track. We’ll see what happens!
That sounds like it might be a good plan for you! I hope it works out well and your December is awesome. 🙂
Haha! I’m doing something very similar; part TBR, part Mood reading 🙂 I’m very excited. By mood reading the pressure is gone and its such a nice feeling 🙂 I hope you pick up all-new favourites this month. Happy reading 🙂
Yes, it’s exciting not to be putting pressure on yourself around one of your hobbies! Thanks, Ivy! I hope you enjoy your December reading!
I usually try to make December a mood reading month but this year, it’s going to be catch-up month! I would like to read all the ARCs I didn’t have the chance to read yet and I would like to read as many books as possible in my list of books to read in 2020. 🤣
Oh, that’s a great goal! I wish you luck with it. 🙂
It always feels great not to have any reading obligations. 🙂 I spent November mood reading and got stuck in romance. I haven’t read romance soooo long. I enjoyed my time there, still am actually lol.
Nothing wrong with Romance! I may have just acquired a couple of review books but that’s okay because I’m still 98% mood reading haha. (Couldn’t help myself for long it seems….)
I’m trying to balance catching up with some review books and also reading some self published books (well, that I’ve also got behind with). I’ve been out of my slump recently so fingers crossed that this month goes well for us both.
I had only one review book this month, Phil Williams second Ordshaw book which I should get to next week. But then I also accepted two other requests so now I’m full up again but luckily these all fit my mood so I should be good to go. Phew! 🙂 Good luck with catching up, Lynn! Glad to hear you’re out of your slump, I hope it stays that way~!
It is the same for me! I had a book to read because I am taking part to the book tour the next week, but that aside I would let my mood guide me! I may try to read some Mangas, because this year I haven’t read them, at all!! But it is just a thought, I would choose what the mood suggests to me!
I did just accept two new review requests but they both fit with my mood so I should be good, haha. Yay for mood reading! I’m reading some manga myself this month! I’m super behind and also it’s a nice way to boost my year end numbers LOL. 🙂 Have a great December, Susy!
200 books!?!?! WOW!!! you are Wonder Woman!! Amazing!!
LOL, thanks! Happy reading to you as well. 🙂
Woop woop. Stress and obligation-free reading ftw. I’m actually making zero goals or commitments for 2021, just reading whatever tf I want when I want 🙌
Zero goals is where it’s at! I love me some stress free reading. 🙂
