Well, I finished up three books this week, all of the SFF books, two print and one audio. The good news is that one of them was from my monthly TBR and therefore also a bingo read so I can check off those boxes. The bad news is I’m unlikely to finish reading any more books off my monthly TBR for the rest of the month as I feel like I’m in full on mood reading mode now. Whoops! Well, maybe I’ll get in the mood for one of them but that’s unlikely. *shrug*
So, what am I reading this week, then? Well, I’m trying to concentrate on going through what I have already in my TBR and pulling from there so let’s see…at least I have A LOT to choose from lol.
First up, in audio I’m going to check out Borne by Jeff VanderMeer. This will be my first VanderMeer but I’m looking forward to checking it out. Also it’s only 12 hours which works out well since I have a much shorter commute time now. (I see myself reading a lot less audio in the future unless I start listening at home more while doing chores.)
In print I’m going to be checking out Wintersong by S. Jae Jones. I don’t know much about this one except I picked it up during a sale and it looked like something that would float my boat. It’s described as ‘dark, romantic, and unforgettable’ so I’m on board. π
Depending on how things go with the print book I may get more reading in, we’ll see. I do have off for Thanksgiving so may be able to squeeze in some extra reading time. What are you reading this week? Leave a note in the comments, I’d love to chat!
I really loved Borne and I hope you do too! It’s very weird but it’s a touching read! π
I’m reading Unconquerable Sun by Kate Elliott, I’m enjoying it but I don’t know if I will finish it before the end of the month because I don’t have a lot of free time… π₯ I also need to finish my re-read of In Order to Live, a memoir about a girl who fleed North Korea to reach South Korea. I read it a few years ago and I have to a presentation about it in about a week so… I really need to finish it soon lol.
Well I do love weird so I’m hoping that it appeals to me! π
Glad you’re enjoying UnSun! I’m hoping I can get to that one soon but I’m mood reading so we’ll see hahaha. Sounds like you have a lot of reading going on! Good luck!
Ahh Wintersong! It’s something I choose out of my comfort zone too! I just kind of grab it. Maybe because of the pretty coverπ
It does have a really pretty cover. π
Borne is one of my favorite books and was also my first VanderMeer. I hope you enjoy the audio!
Thanks, Tammy! I’m really looking forward to it. π
I’ve kind of been thinking about reading Wintersong at some point, but I never get around it!
Maybe one day you’ll be in the mood for it and read it on a whim! π
I’m very curious to your thoughts on Borne, I keep thinking about reading that one!
Enjoy your reading!

Thanks, Evelyn! Hopefully I’ll love it. π I’ll be sure to share my thoughts!
I’ve always been very intrigued by Wintersong. I look forward to hearing your thoughts about it.
I’m almost finished it and it’s….wow, completely my type of book. Dark side of fairy tales but with some angsty romance. I’m enjoying it. π
angsty romance… oh… I’m intrigued!!
I finished it last night and I really loved it. I think you might like it as well!
you won! I will add it to my TBR π
π
Also… YAY MOOD READING!! I gave up my TBR as well. Sometimes, it’s what you need!
It really is haha. I’m enjoying just reading whatever I feel like. π
Borne is very weird – of course I loved it – but it is unusual. I think you’ll enjoy it too tbh.

I do love weird so…hopefully I’ll love it! So far I’m into it although admittedly I’m not that far in. π
The moment I had a (blessedly) shorter commute, my audiobook reading plummeted. Driving was one of the few consistent times I had to listen to things, so when getting to work took 10 minutes instead of 45, there went my audiobook time! But hey, I’ll take the extra half hour of sleep.
Yeah, the only downside. I just need to get into the groove of listening at home more when I’m doing chores and stuff. π
I will be starting the Bone Shard Daughter on the weekend but right now I am reading Torn by Jennifer L Armentrout π
Oh, I hope you enjoy The Bone Shard Daughter–I’m hoping to get to that one eventually myself. Enjoy your reading!
I have heard good things from a few friends so Iβm trying not to overhype it in my head haha
Totally get not wanting to overhype lol!
