The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Reviewer. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.
Random News And Goings-On
Biggest news of the last week–I started my new job! And…so far it’s going really well I think! I am much happier there than my previous job. I am already learning a lot but I also still have a lot more to learn. I’m hoping I can pick things up fast and settle in to my new duties soon. Also, having a fifteen minute commute is amazing.
I also spent a lot of my time last week cleaning up my house from the renovation. My dining room was a complete disaster with boxes and trash and dirt all over it. I had to take everything out of it, deep clean everywhere, wash about a bazillion dishes, and then put it all back together. I still have a few more rooms to deep clean but hope to have those all done soon and then get back to some semblance of ‘normality’, whatever that means now days.
I finally mostly caught up on blog hopping, now I need to get caught up on writing reviews and other blog posts. And some blog maintenance as well like updating my reviews by author’s page because I’m behind on that as well. I’ve really let things go over the last six weeks. Thank goodness I was so far ahead! I’m hoping to get some blog work done by the end of this weekend, we’ll see how much progress I’ve made by Monday. π
New Book Arrivals at Way Too Fantasy
Physical Books
My latest Goldsboro Fellowship book arrived and I continue to be impressed with the beauty of these signed editions. Not sure when I’ll find time to read it but happy to add Ashes of the Sun by Django Wexler to my collection. π
I went to pick up my new glasses and since the book store is in the same lot I stopped by and picked up a few new things for the TBR.
Caraval by Stephanie Garber and The Merciful Crow by Margaret Owen were on the buy one get one 50% off table so I couldn’t resist that! And I’ve been thinking about The Wanderers by Chuck Wendig for a while now because I love me some hopeful ‘end of the world’ stories.
Ebooks
I’ve actually been pretty good about digging through my ebook pile and reading already bought books the last couple of weeks instead of buying new ones (yay me!). I did get out The Silvered Serpents by Roshani Chokshi from my library, but that’s a loan so… π
Audiobooks
Well I temporarily shut down my audible credits because I’m far behind and not sure how much audiobook time I’ll have with the new job. But I did have two old credits that needed spending and so I picked up Spirit’s End by Rachel Aaron (the final Eli Monpress book) and Forest of a Thousand Lanterns by Julie C. Dao because I’ve been wanting to read some of her work since forever.
That about sums things up for this time, hope you all have a fantastic week ahead!
I am so glad you are enjoying your new job!! Have an amazing new week!!
Thanks, Susy! Hope you have a great week as well. π
Lots of great stuff happening for you! Thanks for sharing with us friend. π
Thanks! I’m excited! It’s been a lot of bad before so it’s nice to have good things happening for once!
Yeah, 2020 has been a lot of bad, so it’s all about finding the good in things and progress. π
Indeed!
Congrats on starting your new job! That must be a big reliefπ I love that paperback copy of Wanderers, I’m not sure how hopeful a story it is, but I loved it. Have a good week, Lisa!
It really is a relief!
Well, I guess I’ll find out haha. I’m hoping it’s at least a little hopeful π
Thanks, Tammy! Hope you have a good week too!
I was lucky enough to get an ARC of The Wanderers and I really enjoyed it. π
Oh, nice! I look forward to reading it!
Congrats on your new job! I’m happy to hear it’s a better environment than your old job. I hope you’ll enjoy Forest of a Thousand Lanterns! I read it awhile ago and liked it, but I think I was a fan of the sequel more.
Thank you!
I’ve heard good things about Forest of a Thousand Lanterns so I’m excited to get to it eventually. π
congrats on the new job!! glad it’s working out so well for you! have a good weekπ
Thanks, Kaya! I hope you have a good week too. π
I’m so happy for you with your new job – plus a shorter commute – it really does make a big difference to your work/life balance. Your dining room looks lovely. I’ve been having the opposite to a Spring Clean – A Winter Clean – which is pre Christmas decorations.
Lynn π
Thanks, Lynn! It’s sooooo much better than my old job. I really feel I’m valued there, and I’ve only been there a week and a half! The shorter commute is a HUGE plus–I’m getting a lot more reading done in the morning. π
Thanks! Winter clean sounds…like work too haha. Good luck!
I’m glad the new job is going well for you π And, OMG, it’s great when the commute is shorter, esp if you live or work somewhere that has a LOT of traffic.
Your dining room is so cute! I’m liking the porcelains I see there.
I’m playing catch up now too. I have a bunch of reviews I need to get out so… I’m procrastinating lol!
Yes, I am LOVING the shorter commute. The only downside is less audio time but that’s something I’m working on figuring out.
Thank you! I have….a lot of odds and ends as far as tea pots, tea cups, dishes, etc. I used to spend a lot of time at antique stores and thrift stores etc. I have so much, it’s probably too much. LOL
Good luck with catching up! I still have some work to do myself on catching up with blogging stuff hah.
