August TBR Pile

Welcome once again to a new month! July sure flew by, didn’t it? The world is still weird and I’m still here trying the best I can to enjoy myself through reading the best that I can.

Last month I did pretty well and finished all three books that I had on my TBR pile for the month so I thought I’d try this short TBR pile thing once again. Maybe a three book TBR pile is the charm? We’ll see if this pattern continues! šŸ˜€

  • Vita Nostra by Marina and Sergey Dyachenko is a book that is on my r/fantasy bingo card this year for school setting. I’ve heard this book is weird. Weird is my jam. We’ll see if it’s my kind of weird I guess. I have this in ebook and in audio so I might bounce back and forth between the two formats depending on how I’m feeling.
  • A Conspiracy of Truths by Alexandra Rowland I’ve had in my digital TBR for a little while now. I also have this one marked down for a bingo square so hopefully I’ll get this one finished as I’m playing catch up from a slow start with my challenge this year. I’ve heard good things about this book so I’m looking forward to it.
  • The Shores of Spain by J. Kathleen Cheney is a book that I really want to read but keeps ending up on my TBR lists and not getting read for some reason. 2020 is weird, y’all, that’s all I can say. This is the final book in a trilogy and I’m looking forward to completing yet another series this year.

That’s all for my ‘official’ TBR for this month. In addition to these I’ll be buddy reading the 2nd The Others book (Murder of Crows) by Anne Bishop with Lynn from Lynn’s Books again (we both really loved book one!). I also received an eARC of A Dance with Fate by Juliet Marillier (one of my most anticipated books of the year) and I’d also like to get to that as soon as possible. One other book I’d love to get to is the new Dresden Files book from Jim Butcher. SO MANY BOOKS, SO LITTLE TIME.

We’ll see how things go and where my mood takes me. Who knows, I could just binge read romance novels for the next month! Ahahaha. 2020.

What does your TBR look like this month? See anything here that looks interesting? Leave a note in the comments, I’d love to chat!

I could have easily added that many or more but then I’d feel obligated to get to all of them hahaha. I’m assuming you’re doing your TBR buffet style again? šŸ™‚ Good luck with it! Hope you have a fantastic August, Tammy!

A short tbr definitely helps. I mean your brain doesn’t start hyperventilating at the very sight of it because it’s sooo cute and tiny and you are able to read more too! So i guess I’ll keep my tbr short too, at least in the beginning!

    A VERY HAPPY AUGUST, Lisa!šŸ˜˜ā¤ļøā¤ļø

Loving Murder of Crows – just need to remember to listen when I’m doing things round the house!
Have you started No.3 yet? I’m going to use another audio credit for that one.

So glad you’re loving it! Yes, I also finished the third one haha. I zoomed right through it. I may have taken a sick day on Monday to stay home and read whoops! It continues to be great!

One of the reasons I decided to start doing embroidery was so that I’d have more of an excuse to listen to audio while I’m home–it’s been working out so far. šŸ™‚ Good luck!
