Well, let’s start off with how I did last week. I finished one audiobook (Dark Age by Pierce Brown which left me emotionally destroyed as anyone who follows me on twitter probably noticed) and then I also finished in print two novellas, one short story magazine I’d been working on for a while, and one novel. Overall, a pretty great week in reading! I managed to cross a couple more books off of my TBR list and I still have about a week left to go with a four day weekend ahead of me.
One of the books I’m reading this week is for review and is not on my TBR list, so I’m hoping I can breeze through it and get to a couple more on my list before December 3rd (the last day for my TBR period) but we’ll see how things go. Also, I’m out of audiobooks for my TBR list! I’ve went through them all! So no help getting my list down there on that front. Oh well. Either way, books will be read and that’s the most imporant thing. π
In print this week I’ll be working on Angel Mage by Garth Nix. This has been a book I’ve been anticipating and I started it this weeked but am only just near the beginning still so don’t really have any thoughts on it yet. Hopefully will finish this one up as soon as possible so that I can squeeze in some other books at the end of the week with my copious amounts of free time. π
In audio I’m working on Blood Price by Tanya Huff. This is an urban fantasy book featuring a vampire and I’m reading it for r/fantasy bingo but I also have been meaning to read this series for a long time–bingo turned out to be just the kick in the pants I needed to get going on it. I’ve started this one over the weekend and I’m loving it so far! I have a feeling it will be a quick listen.
Also, I’m still chugging away at The Dragons of Autumn Twilight by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman for the readalong being hosted by Jason from Off The TBR. Have been having a lot of fun revisiting this book, but also I can’t believe it’s taking me so long to read it since I fairly flew through it the first time I read it many many years ago..
Not sure how much audio book time I’ll get in this week since I usually listen on my commute and at work and not so much at home unless I’m doing housework or some other mundane project and this week is only a three-day work week (huzzah!). But, if I do manage to finish up Blood Price I’ll probably sqeeze a short one in, I have The Monster of Elendhaven in queue and that one is only about four hours long so maybe I’ll get to that. Or maybe I’ll start something else entirely. Who knows, I’m feeling whimsical!
For print, if I get through all of Angel Mage, then next up will probably either be The Fated Sky by Mary Robinette Kowal or Desdemona and the Deep by C.S.E. Cooney. Best case scenario, I get to them all and cross more books of my TBR before my wrap up in December. Worst case–well, I’ve already got a lot crossed off and I’ll get to them eventually.
Well, those are my plans this week. Do you have any reading plans for the coming week? Any thoughts on the books I’m reading? Leave a note in the comments, I’d love to chat!
I hope you have a great week!

Thanks, Evelyn, you too!
I’m trying to finish up one last book for SciFiMonth and post the review by the end of the week, which is totally doable because of the upcoming holiday. But wow, you killed it this week with your reading! I can only hope for that level and quantity of readingπ
Yay for the upcoming long weekend! Hope you get all you want to accomplished. π
I actually feel guilty for not doing more yesterday, I sort of pooped out after the morning and moped around binge watching tv feeling depressed for no reason LOL. But this makes me feel a little better, yeah, I guess I did read a lot last week π
I’m getting through some highly anticipated releases right now! I’m 1/3 into THE TOLL and my copy of STARSIGHT by Brandon Sanderson should be here tomorrow, just in time for the holiday!
I was just starting to get back into audiobooks for my commute, and then because of an office move I’m working from home for the next few weeks. Argh! I’m easily distracted unless I’m doing something like driving, so there’s only a handful of ways for me to use them!
Yay for highly anticipated reads! I still have a few to get to this year and I’m excited! Hope you enjoy yours. π
Yeah, I don’t know what I’m gonna do whenever I eventually change jobs. I mean, I’d still listen on my commute, but I hope I can also squeeze in some listening time during work, but it depends what kind of job I get (my work place has a few pluses but other than that it’s a hellscape and I’m trying to get out of there LOL). Hope you can get some audiobook time in soon!
The Monster of Elendhaven was interesting. Not exactly what I was expecting. I’m still don’t know if I liked it or not.
Huh. I have heard mixed things. I’m not sure what to expect but at least it’s short so a small investment LOL π
I hope your reading plans have gone well. I started Angel Mage but decided to put it down and pick it up again, I just don’t think I was in the right sort of place and being exhausted wanted a different feeling book.

It’s definitely different from other books I’ve read by Nix. I’ll be honest and say I’m struggling a bit with it myself, mostly can’t get into the characters, so I put it down over the weekend and read a novella and am going back to it tomorrow. Sometimes you need a break.
