The Sunday Post #18

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Reviewer. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

Random News And Goings-On

As far as blogging, I wouldn’t say that I’m caught up, there are still some things I’m behind on but those are mostly behind the scenes at least. Between my TBR plans, signing up for a readalong, review commitments and a promo event I signed up for…along with my normal blogging duties….well, I may have over committed myself this month (as per usual!). I can’t help it. I like to join in things! But this also means I’ve been really busy despite finally having some ‘free time’. (Free time ahahahahahaha) I’ve also been working on my cataloging project here and there, so that’s been fun. Hopefully can get it done by the end of next weekend.

Speaking of next weekend, well this will be a short work week for me. It’s Thanksgiving Holiday on Thursday here in the US and we have off work. My work also gives us off Friday so I have a four day weekend coming up. Thursday we’ll be going out for TG dinner with my in-laws. We just go out to a restaurant because it’s easier and no one has to worry about cooking or cleaning up. On Saturday it’s my husband’s birthday–not sure if we’re doing anything to celebrate but we’ll see what he wants to do. Either way I should have plenty of ‘free time’ coming up. My plans are to read and work on the cataloging. Maybe some light blogging. Or maybe I’ll just binge watch something. Everyone has got me watching The Dragon Prince now, so I have that to marathon. 🙂

New Book Arrivals at Way Too Fantasy

Physical Books

Well, it’s only been two weeks since my last update but I do have a few new books to show off. Becuase of course I do. (It’s like I can’t help myself lol)

For review – Angel Mage by Garth Nix and The Will and the Wilds by Charlie N. Holmberg. Thanks much to Katherine Tegan Books, 47North and most of all the awesome folks at Wunderkind PR for sending these my way. Looking forward to both of these! ❤

Purchased – My preorder of The Queen of Nothing by Holly Black came in Tuesday. So of course I finished it up by Wednesday evening LOL. It was good, I definitely have some thoughts on it, hopefully can get a review out soon. I also got my OwlCrate this past week and in it was Winterwood by Shea Ernshaw. I LOVE this alternate cover for it, so pleased. Last but not least when I went to my friend’s comic shop last weekend I picked up the first two volumes of Monstress by Marjorie Liu and Sana Takeda. Very much looking forward to checking this out and seeing what all the hype has been about.

Library haul – I also went to the library yesterday! Really to turn in some books but of course I couldn’t resist looking around while I was there. I picked up Beauty by Sarah Pinborough because I’ve heard amazing things about her work and also it was hard to resist the cover. Next I got The Unbound Empire by Melissa Caruso. Really glad they had this one because I am excited to finish up this series! I’d been listening to it on audio but the last one never got an audiobook *sad face*. Finally, I picked up Dusk or Dark or Dawn or Day by Seanan McGuire. I really like McGuire’s writing and need to read more of her stuff, have never heard of this one but it seemed interesting and I admit I was attracted by its short length. I’m hoping that I can squeeze in some more short reads before the end of the year to boost my overall book count. 🙂

Posts to Check Out from the Book Blogging Community

Sadly, even though I had mostly stayed on top of blog hopping this week, I don’t have any posts to share becuause I’ve been super busy with other commitments so I’ve been squeezing in my blog hopping mostly at work where it’s not easy for me to save links. But I’ve read and enjoyed a ton of posts and look forward to reading even more! Hopefully I can get back to sharing posts next time I have a Sunday Post.

That’s the news for this week, see you next time!

I can’t wait for Thanksgiving weekend!! I plan to read read read and maybe clean the house😁 We also are eating out for TG dinner with my parents and sister. It’s easier on everyone and we still get to spend time together. Happy reading!

I don’t even know if I’ll be cleaning LOL. I think our house might mostly be clean because a lot is getting done today, my husband has his DnD group over tomorrow so I gotta keep it ‘company clean’ lol. Dinner out is SO much easier, we’ve been doing it that way for about 4 or 5 years now and it’s great. 🙂 Hope you get a ton of reading done next weekend!

Dinner out sounds so stress free. I always think I want to cook for everyone, and I do really, but then I always overdo plans when I invite people round and just end up running around like a maniac. Eating out is much much better. Hope you had a good time.

Usually one of the other family memebers would cook or a combo of them which also involved transporting food to the host house which just gets tiresome. I’m glad we do it this way now, no muss, no fuss! ONE time we cooked thanksgiving dinner at our house just to do it but it was only for my husband and myself but we honestly cooked enough for about half a dozen people because that’s how we roll lol. After that we were like ‘well, never have to do that again’ lol.
