The Sunday Post #3

thesundaypost

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Reviewer. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

Random News And Goings-On

Well, this past week was just as stressful as last week, maybe more so in some ways. As some of you already know I had to get a new dishwasher and then last Sunday night when I got home discovered our central AC wasn’t working. Tried to take off work on Thursday to stay home with my husband (he works from home two days a week) in case I had to wrangle cats in the house (husband does not wrangle cats) but then my boss asked me to work from home so I still had to do work while running around trying to get housework done in case the repair person had to come inside. Dishwasher was dropped off, then the AC guy came out and got it working again, such as it is. It’s an old unit and will probably need to be replaced sooner rather than later so we’re scheduling estimates for a new central heating and cooling system. (Yikes!)

Then I thought, ‘well, these things usually come in threes–where is the third thing?’ and Friday on the way home from work my husband ran over a wire in the road, got his car scraped up and a flat tire. Poor guy had to change it to the spare in 90 degree weather, then once he dropped it off at the tire place he walked home (I’m married to a mad man apparently). So, new tire, yay? Glad he wan’t hurt, it could have been worse. So, yeah, it’s been a week. Also, I’d like to say a fond farewell to money, it was nice knowing you for a little while! *cries into entire bottle of whiskey*

Anywho. Still participating it the Off The Grid Readathon the rest of today as much as I can. Hoping I can finish up a good chunk of books before I get too far behind. (I’m probably not behind, but I always feel like I’m behind–life of a reader, I guess.) So far I’ve finished two, and started a third. Great progress!

New Book Arrivals at Way Too Fantasy

Not a whole lot of new books this past week, I’ve been good! I’ve shown restraint! I’ve… been too busy with other things to buy books. 😀

Ebooks

I pre-ordered The Queen’s Advantage by Jessie Mihalik after finishing off the previous novella because I really had fun with it. (I have just finished this one and it was super fun–lots of political intrigue this time around which is just my thing–hopefully will have a full review up soon-ish!)

I won Kingdom of Embers by Tricia Copeland in a goodreads giveaway. Vampires! Witches! Yes please, sign me right on up. Going to have to find somewhere to work this one into my already jam packed summer reading.

Posts to Check Out from the Book Blogging Community

Haven’t been keeping up with blog hopping as much as I would have liked this week–it’s been a bit chaotic, and then the readathon hit. Promise to finish catching up with everyone soon! In the meantime, check out some of these awesome posts by fellow bloggers.

I’m glad I’m not the only one who thinks bad things come in threes…something similar just happened to me involving a washing machine, a car and shoot I can’t remember the third thing. Must be going around!

  2. Zezee says:

Oh wow! That was a crazy week. Loads going on. Hopefully next week will be more relaxed for you.
I’ll be crazy busy with work. So not looking forward to it.

    Yep – I feel ya.
We seem to have been having something similar this week and I said the very same thing about things coming in threes.
I think it’s just this time of year where I feel so busy and always behind – life of a reader eh?
Still, can think of a whole lot worse things.
    Lynn 😀
