Well, I never really did a book haul post in January other than my Discworld book haul post, so here are some of the books I’ve picked up in the last month and a half. Some of these I’ve already read (and reviewed!) but they’re my latest acquisitions so here they are. š
Physical Books Received for Review
Ok, so just this one this time around, Crown Of Feathers by Nicki Pau Preto. I was really excited when this one showed up unexpectedly in the mail because it’s on my list of anticipated reads. Thanks so much to the folks at Simon Pulse for sending this one my way, looking forward to it!

- Thornbound by Stephanie Burgis
- The Spec Set by Taya Okerlund
- Shin by T. Cook
- Clock’s Watch II: Daughters of the Black Moon by Michael Reyes
- Under Ordshaw by Phil Williams
Physical Books Purchased
I haven’t been buying a ton of physical books — until now! There are just so many coming out this year, plus I had a ton of gift cards so I went on a bit of a pre-order spree. Look at my lovely new babies! I still have a few more coming later this month, so exciting, but also so tough to keep up with everything, haha.
- A Curse So Dark and Lonely by Brigid Kemmerer
- The Wicked King by Holly Black
- Cast in Oblivion by Michelle Sagara
- Asha & The Spirit Bird by Jasbinder Bilan
- Polaris Rising by Jessie Mihalik
Ebooks Purchased
Picked up a lot of these again, stupid sales, I can’t resist! I even have physical copies of some of these but I pick up the ebooks when they’re so cheap because why not? What if I want to read one while I’m out and about. Best to always be prepared, right? O.o
- Ninefox Gambit, Raven Stratagem, and Revenant Gun by Yoon Ha Lee
- Spellswept by Stephanie Burgis
- Blackfish City by Sam J. Miller
- The Green Man’s Heir by Juliet E. McKenna

Audiobooks
I’m happy to say that at least I’ve listened to all but one of these. I do tend to (mostly) stay on top of my audiobooks, phew!
- A Secret History of Witches by Louisa Morgan
- Of Blood and Bone by Nora Roberts
- This Mortal Coil by Emily Suvada
- In an Absent Dream by Seanan McGuire
- White Stag by Kara Barbieri
- Minimum Wage Magic by Rachel Aaron
- The Kingdom of Copper by S.A. Chakraborty
- The Gilded Wolves by Roshani Chokshi
- King of Scars by Leigh Bardugo
A lot of great books there, now I just need infinite time so I can catch up on reading all of them. Any that you’re looking forward to or have thoughts on? Leave a note in the comments, I’d love to hear from you!
Ahh, A Curse So Dark and Lonely is GORGEOUSšš and I canāt wait to see your thoughts on Crown of Feathers!
Hopefully I’ll be able to get to both of those soon, although I have some other review books I’m supposed to be reading too…. lol š
Spellswept looks interesting! Whatās it about?
It’s a shorter one, like a novellette I suppose. It’s about a young woman who has to make a decision about what she wants her future to be like. But it’s the society that’s really fascinating because even though there are definite gender roles they’re reversed a bit here. It’s a fun fantasy romance with interesting thoughts as well. It’s also a prequel to Snowspelled, the first of the Harwood Spellbook series.
Wow definitely sounds interesting! Iāll look into it. Thank you!
You’re welcome!
Awesome haul! I got a surprise copy of Crown of Feathers as well, I’m super excited to read itš
Isn’t that cover gorgeous?! Was so excited to see this one in the mail.
Curious to what you think about Crown of Feathers!

Thanks, hopefully will get to it soon!
Lol have to share with you that I typed “Shin by T. Cook” into Google and the results that popped up were all recipes, lol! Had to add “Goodreads” to it to get the page.
LOL That’s hilarious!
Oh wow such an amazing haul!!! Iām excited to see which turn out to be your favorites!
Thanks!
Wow, what an amazing haul! That’s gonna be keeping you busy for a while, methinks š And what is Asha & The Spirit Bird? I’ve never heard of it but it looks so pretty I just have to check it out! LOL
Thanks! Yes, it probably will haha. Asha & The Spirit Bird is a middle grade magical realism novel that takes place in India. The cover also caught my eye with that one and honestly have been meaning to read more middle grade–so many fantasy authors are writing it now days.
What a lovely haul of books. I particularly loved the Nine and The Last Sun so feel I want to give them a little shout out. Hope you enjoy.

Thanks! I really want to get to both of those soon because I’ve heard such great things.
The ebook hole is real! I also picked up the whole Revanant trilogy last month. Want to read Polaris Rising, I think I’ll pick that up soon after I’ve dug myself out of the ARC hole I dove headfirst into.
I also very much feel like I’m in a review request hole. In reality it’s probably only 10 books but man that feels like a lot when I keep skipping them to read other things, lol.
Oooh, I am super excited to hear your thoughts on Crown of Feathers!!! Lovely haul post and happy reading!
Thanks! I need to figure out how to get to it soon. I’m running into a problem where I have too many things due around the same time lol!
YUP I know that feeling all too well, I got myself into a little pickle recently hahah. Good luck!
That’s how it goes sometimes haha. Thanks!
I’m so excited about crown of feathers!! And I’m psyched for wicked king and a curse so dark and lonely as well š Awesome haul!
I am looking forward to finally getting to a few of these as I get caught up on review requests and ARCs! š
