Hello all, hope you had a wonderful week. I finally finished two books I’d been reading a while. I listened to the end of The Name of All Things by Jenn Lyons while doing some house work and I finished up Michelle Sagara’s Cast in Conflict. Wow, I have to say things are really progressing in that series in major ways. Very much looking forward to the next Elantra book although it may be a while as she has a 2nd Severin pre-quel coming out next year so not sure when the regular series will resume.
This past week has been somewhat stressful with work stuff but I feel like I’ve been managing that okay–therapy has definitely been helpful. This weekend my husband had friends over for DnD and then Sunday was my birthday.
For my birthday my husband gave me a Cardcaptor Sakura figure that I’d been wanting. It’s so pretty!
I then spent a chunk of time reorganizing my anime figures and my husband also bought me some lights for them!
I also had some new books arrive in the mail this week!
First up in By Demons Be Driven by Ashe Armstrong which is book 4 in his weird western series. Next up is the Goldsboro edition of Empire of the Vampire by Jay Kristoff–what a chonker! I love this cover so much better than the US cover, to no one’s surprise (I almost always like the UK covers better). And lastly I picked up a physical copy of The Jasmine Throne by Tasha Suri. Maybe this will motivate me to finally finish it!
I do hope I’ll get in some reading this week but I really want to finish this craft room reorganizing project I started and I also now have pumkins to carve one night this week as well as a book event on Wednesday evening. Charm City Spec has a fantastic lineup of authors coming out and I’m looking forward to finally going to a book related event again! Anyway, not really sure what I’ll be reading next but probably a romance because I have several new ones that have suddenly appeared on my kindle app. What are you reading this week? Leave a note in the comments, I’d love to chat!
I am so so jealous of all your anime figures. A lot. ❤
Hah, thanks. I enjoy them! At my old office I had like 85% of them at my desk but now they’re all home and together.
Happy belated birthday!
I´m currently reading Dragonfly Falling and Dragon Haven 🙂
Thanks, Evelyn! Hope you enjoy!
Happy belated birthday!! ❤ I hope you had a wonderful day, and that the year ahead is filled with magic and adventure.
I'm embarking on a spontaneous Margaret Rogerson reread capped off by finally diving into Vespertine, and I am hyped.
Thanks, Mary! It was a good day. 🙂
I love Rogerson and am very excited for Vespertine. Recently reread Sorcery of Thorns but may have to read An Enchantment of Ravens as well. Hope you enjoy the new one!
I LOVE that CCS figurine! So pretty!
Thanks! It’s really awesome. 🙂
I love all your Sakura figurines! That new one is so pretty.
Thank you! I enjoy them. 🙂
Oh wow! Happy Belated Birthday!!
Thank you!
Happy Belated Birthday, looks like you got lots of amazing gifts!
Thank you! Yes, I was very lucky. 🙂
I love your birthday present and all the figures just look wonderful.
Lynn 😀
Thanks, Lynn!
Oh my, your figurines are awesome! 😍 And I am curious to know what you would think about your new books! I have waited impatiently for the Kristoff’one and I have checked my mail compulsively while I was waiting for it to arrive and then… The big bad slump got me and even if I started it, I had to abandon it… But just for now! I hope to be right back on track soon and to finally enjoy it!
It will probably be a bit until I read most of them as my reading has been slow going these days.
Thanks – I love my anime figures, they are so much fun to collect. Although I think I’m pretty much out of room now haha.
Ugh, slumps! I hear you on that, I’ve been mostly in a slump for months now. Hope yours end soon!
