This Week in Reading: Mood Reading Review Requests

Hello all! This past week I finished two books and started a third and am also still working on an audiobook. So I’m making progress. I honestly probably could have read a bit more but work has been a bit chaotic trying to get things buttoned down before the holiday break so I’ve been relaxing when I get home, zoning out watching mindless TV. And then over the weekend I got sucked into Kdrama-land and wound up binge watching all of It’s Okay to Not Be Okay. Whoops. It was totally worth it though. And also allowed me to sit on my computer and work on a few blogging things. Not that I’m caught up at all (ahahaha my reading tracking spreadsheet whhyyyyyy).

Anyway, I can’t believe we’re already into Christmas week! The New Year will be here before we know it. So let’s try to make the best of the little bit of 2020 we have left–this year has not defeated us.

So this week I’m working on a couple of review requests but these are also mood reads as they happen to be books I’m very much in the mood for. In print I’m reading Blood Heir by Ilona Andrews. This is the new Kate Daniels spinoff series featuring Kate’s adopted daughter as the protagonist. I’ve already started this one and am enjoying it a lot. I’m sure it won’t take me long at all to read this one because I love Ilona Andrews books.

In audio I’m still working on Blue Angel by Phil Williams. This is the 2nd Ordshaw book, a really interesting urban fantasy. I’m having a good time with this one as well and the audio is excellent, I have to say. The only thing holding me up on this one is that my commute is so short I don’t get as much audio time as I used to. This week will be a short week as well, what with the holiday, so I’m not sure how much progress I’ll make on this one but I’m going to try my best to work in some listening time. 🙂

So yeah, despite my mood reading I did get approved for a couple of ARCs and accept a couple of review requests, but only because these were books I was already super excited for so reading them will be the opposite of a chore. After these I have two more ARCs in print so I may read one of those or something completely different. We’ll see where my mood takes me. What are you reading this week? Leave a note in the comments, I’d love to chat!

I’m a good bit into Blood Heir and so far I’m loving it–so great to be back in this universe again with some familiar characters. And the humor!
It’s Okay to Not Be Okay was an interesting one. Pretty over the top with all of the connections and psycho killer but I had a lot of fun with it and the characters were heartwarming.

I just started A Deadly Education and so far I’m really intrigued. The beginning sort of dumps you into the story so I’m still a little lost, but do far so good. Hope you have a good week!

Oh, those sound fun! I actually picked up Opium and Absinthe a little while back because the ebook was super cheap at the time. I hope you enjoy! Maybe if you love it then it will kickstart me to read it haha.
Thanks, I hope you have a great Christmas as well!

It’s hard to recommend something as good as this one, it deals with so many things and the actors are all fantastic!
When The Camelia Blooms is a 2019 drama that I really loved, the actor who played Moon Sangtae is in this one as well and it’s an incredible drama. The actors are great, it’s both sad and heartwarming and it has a bit of mystery! (I’m pretty sure it’s available on Netflix as well!)

I’m about halfway through, hopefully will finish up tonight or tomorrow, really loving it. The later books in the Kate Daniels series has a lot of the same humor (especially the last couple) so I’m loving it here too. 🙂

I thought it was really good! If you liked the first one you’ll probably like this one as well. We do get some more answers about the underground of Ordshaw, and also a few more questions. Plus Lettie continues to be the best haha.
