This month, in honor of Halloween, I’m going to make my TBR a little Halloween-ish themed. These are all books that I’ve either had in my TBR for a while or furthering my goal to finish off some ongoing series. Very much looking forward to all of these reads! Without further ado, let’s get spooky!
- The Bone Houses by Emily Lloyd-Jones. This is a book I got from OwlCrate a while ago and just haven’t had the chance to read it yet. Looks like an appropriate read for the month of Halloween!
- A Secret History of Witches by Louisa Morgan. I’ve had this one in my audio queue for…more than a year now? So sad. But I keep hearing amazing things about these witch books! What better time to dive in?
- The Shadowglass by Rin Chupeco. This is the third and final book in the Bone Witch trilogy. I don’t read a ton of books about necromancers, but this has been such a fun and fascinating series! Love the characters, the magic is interesting, etc. Looking forward to the conclusion. Necromancy!
So, that’s some of my month ahead. I don’t plan on reading ALL Halloween-ish books this month, of course I’ll still mostly be doing my mood reading as per usual, but the theme seemed a fun way to get some of these out of my TBR pile and into the ‘Read’ pile. What are you planning on reading this month? Leave a note in the comments, I’d love to chat!
I’m doing the same! Love creepy reads at the time of year π
I think most of mine will be less creepy and more ‘here’s a fun ghost and a sexy vampire’ but still in the halloween theme haha! π I love October!
Me too π
Yay! (I love that little pumpkin emoji!)
I have a mix of Halloweeny and other books to read this month. There’s certainly no lack of choices, thats for sure! Hope you have a lovely and spooky month, Lisaπ
Thanks, Tammy! May we all enjoy the spooky vibes! π
The Bone Houses cover will always be one of my faves. I hope you enjoy it!
Right? I love that cover! Thanks!
Oh The Bone Houses is a great Halloween read! It’s definitely creepy, but if you don’t want straight up horror, this gives you all the spooky vibes.
Yeah, I thought it might be a good fit for the month haha, glad to hear it! That’s exactly what I was hoping for. π
I have a lot of witch type books this month that I’m very much looking forward to.
Happy reading.
Lynn π
I have a lot of witch books I should be reading and at least I’m reading one but of course I’ll always default to vampires it seems LOL. Have fun with your witchy reading! π
All three of these look amazing! I have had A Secret History of Witches on my TBR forever now also, one day, ha. I have only read the first Bone Witch book, but I loved it. Was the second one amazing as well? Hope you enjoy all of these! Happy reading π
Some books just gather on the TBR pile it seems haha. I really loved book 2 of The Bone Witch–just as good if not slightly better than the first IMO, and it still keeps the same sort of frame story format as well.
Thanks! Hope you have a great month!
I hope you have a great reading month!

Thanks, Evelyn! I hope you do too!
I love your stack!! β€οΈβ¨ I have to continue with The Bone Witch trilogy! though I’ll have to reread the first book first before continuing π & can’t wait to know what you think about The Bone Houses! I love how it sounds π
Thank you! I’m really loving The Bone Witch books, they’re dark and lush and also have great characters and an interesting story structure. I know what you mean about rereading though–series really need to start putting recaps in sequels! π
I read The Bone Houses at the end of last year and absolutely loved it! It was a little creepy (I’m a total chicken) but not at all as bad as I expected it to be. I hope you enjoy it π I want to read Chupeco’s Bone Witch trilogy but that one looks and sounds terrifying so I think I have to prepare myself for it π
Glad you enjoyed that one! Hopefully it will be my kind of spooky as well. π
The Bone Witch isn’t scary although there are zombies sometimes but even though it’s dark magic it’s almost like….dark magic dressed in finery if that makes sense LOL. It’s been an interesting series so far!
