The Sunday Post #42

thesundaypost

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Reviewer. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

Random News And Goings-On

Well, my bathroom is almost done? I’m hoping it will be complete by mid-week this week and then they can start on the kitchen, so only a week and a half behind. Mostly I’m looking forward to once again being able to go to the bathroom upstairs and take a bath/shower in my own house. Also because the subcontractor works weird late hours and is here on Saturdays…well, I’m also looking forward to being able to introvert again. One day.

Anywho. As some of you know I’m working on purging my physical TBR and while I haven’t had all of the posts go up yet, I have gone through my list of books and marked them all as ‘keep’, ‘purge’, or ‘undecided’. So this weekend I’m pulling them off the shelves and starting a purge pile. I have to clean my bookcases anyway because there is renovation dust EVERYWHERE. (sigh) So that’s a project.

Other than that just trying to stay positive even though it feels like the whole world is falling apart and everything in my personal life is currently in chaos as well. *stares into the void*

New Book Arrivals at Way Too Fantasy

Ebooks

Got a few ebooks over the past week or so (I can’t seem to stop myself when it comes to ebooks lately whoooooops). At least I didn’t add anything to my physical TBR this time around.

  • Dracula’s Child by J. S. Barnes – this is an eARC that I received from Netgalley – I figured why not, vampires!
  • Accidentally in Love by Belinda Missen – saw a review of this Romance at Dini’s blog and thought it looked cute so I picked up a copy. 🙂
  • Frostbite by Richelle Mead – book 2 of Vampire Academy – this was a library loan and I’ve since read it and turned it back in, huzzah!
  • The Cybernetic Tea Shop by Meredith Katz – this novella is our HEA book club selection for this month – reading this very soon (maybe even today)
  • Grave Secrets by Alice James – saw a review of this at Asha’s blog and thought it looked right up my alley–I was right, read it and loved it, review coming soon(ish).
  • The Beast Player by Nahoko Uehashi – saw Kaya talking about this one and I got out a copy from the library
  • The Rakess by Scarlett Peckham – a romance I meant to buy and forgot about it but luckily romance twitter reminded me of it the other day!

Audiobooks

There was an audible sale so I picked up Persepolis Rising by James S.A. Corey as it’s one of The Expanse books that I don’t have yet and the more of those I can get on sale the better. 😉

That’s the news for this week, see you next time.

Yes, I’ll definitely be posting photos when it’s done. I don’t have any before pictures because, quite honestly, it was embarrassing LOL. But it’s coming along now and I’m starting to get excited for the finished product!

Good luck with all of the remodeling hopefully they won’t be there to much longer. I wish I could get ahead in some of my blog posts but I tend to literally wait to the day I plan to post them to put them together.

Thanks, Misty! Once they finish up the bathroom they’ll move onto the kitchen but I’m hoping that won’t take quite as long as they don’t have to tear out the floor and only have to replace some of the walls…I think. I’m hoping this is all done for when I go to take my vacation at the end of October…otherwise I guess I’ll be cancelling that or going by myself! 🙂

I used to do that with my posts but it’s so stressful! There are a few I do day of or the night before but I still have a template or loose idea so that helps. 🙂

I hope they are finished in time for y’all to take your vacation together.

I’ve gotten better at scheduling then the night before but I do still sometimes do them the day of. I have also found them at if I try to schedule way ahead for some reason doing it that way gives me a lot of anxiety. It makes no sense but it stresses me out.

It really is, I can’t wait til this is over. It will have taken an entire month for the bathroom and I’m really hoping the kitchen doesn’t take as long because otherwise I will need to cancel my getaway at the end of October. :/
But yes, I’ll be happy to have my bathroom back. 🙂

*OUCH* The pervasive dust that comes from any renovation work is just as bad as having people invading your home while they do their job… Take heart and keep in mind that in the end you will enjoy the new bathroom and kitchen and soon forget these troubles! 🙂

I should have finished pictures on my next Sunday Post. I’m just waiting for the sinks to be hooked up a an couple of finishing touches. I’m excited for that because then I can put my stuff back in there. 🙂
