Well hello there and welcome to another brand new month of books. I’m taking it easy once again in September. These books are leftovers from my 20 books of summer reading challenge but I didn’t want to completely give up on them even though the challenge was over, so here we are.
I did a pretty good with my August TBR list so I’m going to do like the previous months once again and just mention a few books that I plan on reading and why I’m interested in them. I’m hoping that I’ll actually get to them! *crosses fingers*
- The Better Part of Valor by Tanya Huff – this is the second book in her Confederation series. I’m working my way slowly through a huge backlist of Huff’s books and this is the latest series I’m trying to read through. Looking forward to more ‘competence porn’ as my friend Krista calls it. 🙂
- The Many-Colored Land by Julian May – this book has been in my TBR for several years now and it’s about time I check it out! I really don’t know much about it except that a friend recommended it to my a long time ago and I think it will be fun to go into this one without many expectations. 🙂
- Peace Talks by Jim Butcher – I’ve had this one in my audible queue and have been waiting to get to it since it was released. But I’m glad I waited! One of my coworkers is a fan and when I told him there was a new book he bought it immediately and then listened to it and then simultaneously thanked me and cursed me because now he has to wait for the next one. Luckily, it won’t be that long of a wait for me since I didn’t read this one when it first came out. 😉
And once again that’s all I’m officially putting on my ‘TBR’ even though I have a lot of other books I’d love to get to. We’ll see how much reading I can get to–hopefully my mood will take me to good places! What are your reading plans for this month? Leave a note in the comments, I’d love to chat!
I’ve got 5 on my tbr this month I’ve just done a tbr post
Five is a good amount! Hope you enjoy them. 🙂
I hope you have a great reading month!

Thanks, Evelyn! You too. 🙂
I wish I could be so restrained! I didn’t count but I think I have 18 books on my September TBR which is about 3 times more than I can actually read, lol.
18 is a lot haha. There are a lot of books I do want to read but my mood reading is still kind of driving my reading right now so I’m finding a small list is less stressful for me still haha. 🙂
The Many-Coloured Land sounds AWESOME, Lisa! ALL OF THEM DO! I will look forward to your review of these for SURE!! ❤ ❤ ❤
Thanks! I hope I’m able to get to all of them then. 😀
I’ll be interested to see what you think of The Many-Colored Land. My virtual book club read it and I think reactions were mixed.
I know that one of my friends really loved it, but it is an older book and sometimes those don’t age well, I guess we’ll see haha. 🙂
Well, this new way of working your tbr seems to be working really well for you at the moment – long may that continue.
Happy reading.
Lynn 😀
Yeah, making smaller TBR has definitely cut down on my stress. 🙂 Thanks, Lynn!
I’m looking forward to a group read of Kushiel’s Dart in September.
That’s going to be fun! We did one a couple years ago for r/fantasy and it was a good time. 🙂
I hope you’ll enjoy your September reads! There’s a lot on my plate too, but I guess I’ll just take it step by step, book by book 🙂
Thank you! Good luck! One book at a time (or in my case two or three haha).
i hope you enjoy all of these! especially the new jim butcher book!
Thank you, Kaya! I’m hoping it’s going to be a lot of fun. 🙂
I read The Many Coloured Land a long time ago and although many of the details are now hazy, I remember I enjoyed the story very much. Happy reading! 🙂
Thanks! I know a few of my friends really loved that one and recommended it so I’m looking forward to checking it out. 🙂
Hope you enjoy these reads! I’ve got tons of blog tours that I’ve signed up for this month and so I definitely need to get cracking on those reads 😅 Happy reading!
Good luck with all the tours!
This is so restrained! My tbr lists are always huge 🙈 great post and i hope you enjoy these
Hah. I used to do huge TBR’s but then I would feel guilty about not getting to everything so I’m having a smaller list in order to help with that. 🙂 Thanks!
