This Week in Reading: Chaos, Chaos Everywhere!

Well, last week our bathroom renovation started so my house is all torn up, fun times! Despite the chaos and anxiety I still managed to get some reading in. I finished up three books, two SFF and one Romance.

Because of all the chaos and anxiety I’ve gotten really behind on blog hopping again. I’d hoped to catch up this weekend, alas. I binge watched the latest season of Lucifer instead. But, I hope to start catching up today! Looking forward to checking out your posts. 🙂

First up, I’ll be finishing off The Spirit War by Rachel Aaron in audio. I don’t have much of this left to listen to so hopefully I’ll finish it up today and it will still count towards my August reading. 🙂 Really enjoying this series, one more book to go!

Next, I’ll finally be starting Peace Talks by Jim Butcher in audio. Glad that I started this one later because I’ve heard it ends quite abruptly and at least now the next book is just right around the corner so I should be able to jump into that one pretty quickly after finishing up this one, if all goes according to plan (*laughs in chaos*).

In print I plan on reading The Midnight Bargain by C.L. Polk, this is one of the few eARCs I have requested and I’m really looking forward to this one! This comes out next month? I think? So trying to stay ahead of the game.

If I have time for another print book then I’m probably going to start another eARC or maybe just continue on with the mood reading because that’s been working out well for me. What are you reading this week? Leave a note in the comments, I’d love to chat!

Ah, those look so good! This week I’ll finish reading When Breath Becomes Air by Paul Kalanithi. I probably gonna start Get A Life, Chloe Brown by Talia Hibbert because it looks like a cute and fun read after a difficult one.

I really enjoyed Get a Life, Chloe Brown–I’ve read two of the authors books before and she has a certain style of writing that took me a bit to get used to but I really love her books so far and want to read more because her stories are fabulous.

Hope everything goes smoothly with the reno! 😃 The Midnight Bargain looks so good. I’ve never heard of this author before but I’d be keen to hear your thoughts on it. Happy reading! I finished Get A Life, Chloe Brown last night and now I’m not sure what to read coz my mood is so fickle 🙄 LOL Have a good week ahead!

Thanks, me too! I’ll be glad when it’s done. 😀
I’ve only read one of her books before but really loved it so I have high hopes for The Midnight Bargain. 🙂
I know, my mood has been really fickle lately too. Good luck, Dini!

Ahhh, I need to watch the new season of Lucifer still! I’ve been catching up on iZombie, but hopefully I’ll watch that in the next couple of weeks. I saw a spoiler on Tumblr, and I was so mad because now I want to binge the whole thing immediately!

The new season is a lot of fun, you can tell they were just going wild with the story, there’s a sort of joy in that freedom lol.
I’ve never watched iZombie! Maybe I should check that out…

Oooh, that’s exciting to hear! And iZombie is honestly really good, and I think you’d like it if you also like Lucifer. It’s got the same kind of ridiculous feel to it. I mean, it’s a cop drama, but with a zombie medical examiner, sooo.

I was offered The Midnight Bargain and took it on a whim. I’m looking forward to it! I had some issues with Witchmark but mostly enjoyed it. I’m hopeful with a couple more books under her belt this one will agree with me more.

It really does! Everything is a mess and this weekend we have to clear out the kitchen because they’ll be starting that near the end of next week. Other than that and work stress things are going okay lol. 🙂
I just started the Polk and am really loving it so far!

I’m a big Butcher fan, and I can’t tell you how happy I am that we are getting TWO books this year. The wait has been torture. But Peace Talks was already fantastic, Battle Ground will be epic. 😀
