June TBR Pile

And just like that, it’s already June. Wow. Well, 2020 has been a strange one so far, hasn’t it?

I’m not putting a ton of books on my TBR this month, once again, because I’m trying to keep things nice and easy around here. That being said, I do have an announcement for the 20 Books of Summer Challenge coming up shortly–you’ll see these again there–so I’m not keeping things entirely low-key. I’m a joiner-of-things, what can I say?

Books I didn’t Finish From Last Month

Oh, lookee here, some familiar covers! These are books I meant to read in May but didn’t get around to because of my stupid depression/anxiety (what a drag).

The Shores of Spain by J. Kathleen Cheney is the last book in a series that I really love and I want to finish it up. The Waking Land by Callie Bates is a new series I want to start (and this book keeps ending up on various TBRs of mine and not getting read–it’s starting to get kind of pathetic actually).

Books for Review

The Obsidian Tower by Melissa Caruso is a book I’ve been really excited for because I absolutely LOVED her Swords & Fire series. I can’t wait to read more of her work. I actually should have read this eARC by now but….mood and all that. Once I get this one read though I’ll be all caught up on negalley again!

And….that’s it! I’m not putting ANY more pressure on myself other than this. We’ll see what other books await me in June, maybe there will be a surprise along the way. What are your reading plans for June? Leave a note in the comments, I’d love to chat!

I’m still stuck at the Goblin Emperor (only started audio-book 1 yesterday). Will probably take me the rest of the week since I have only these couple of hours (1-2) in the evening for reading. If my wife doesn’t decide to do something about my cinematographic education. Last week some of my reading time went up on Fellini and some other icons from the sixties.

I wish my June TBR only had three books on it…and I hope you love The Obsidian Tower. I have not read the series that comes before it, so I have no plans to read it right now. Hope you have a great month!

Hah, well I’m really trying not to put pressure on myself. 🙂 I LOVED her Fire and Swords series, definitely recommend it if you get time at some point. Thanks, Tammy, same to you!

I’m going to have to make my June list soon, and this month I’m going to go easy as well. I haven’t been able to finish my past two month’s TBRs, so I’ve learned my lesson 😛 The Obsidian Tower is high priority for me as well!

It’s just been so tough being a mood reader right now when it feels like the world is falling apart around us. I am trying to be kinder to myself, more forgiving more missing ‘obligations’ and setting less expectations for myself–part of that is planning my TBR for the month and making it more realistic. Hope you’re able to do the same! 🙂
I am so excited for The Obsidian Tower! I know you’re a huge fan, hope we both love it. 🙂

Reading The Obsidian Tower right now and I can tell you that it’s as good as her Swords and Fire trilogy – I dare say it’s even better and as the stakes get higher and higer it will keep you on the edge of your seat, so… happy reading! 🙂
