THE QUESTIONS
Which book is your most anticipated reading of this year?
Probably a tie between The Empire of Gold by S. A. Chakraborty and The Burning God by R. F. Kuang! Super excited for both of these, luckily for me one of them was just released this past week. 😀
Do you have some blogging goals?
At first I was really focused on stats but now I think my main goal is just to be a part of the book community, make friends, share book recommendations. Talk about the books that I love that maybe others aren’t talking about quite as much…
Which book disappointed you the most? (Or most recently)
Most recently, probably The Absinthe Earl by Sharon Lynn Fisher–this seemed EXACTLY like my type of book. Sadly, it just didn’t work for me. A lot of other people loved it though!
DNF or do not DNF?
Well, I don’t care of people DNF, but it’s really hard for me to DNF for some reason—this is something I’m working on. I will, however, occasionally put down a book and mean to get back to it but never actually do. Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell–I’m looking at you. I guess that could technically be considered a DNF.
Who is one of your favorite authors?
Gotta be Tanya Huff at this point. Her books are fun, quick reads and she also writes such a wide variety of stuff. Epic fantasy, urban fantasy, science fiction, etc. Something for everyone!
Ebooks, physical books or audiobooks?
All of the above! I used to be a bit of a physical book snob, I admit. But ever since I discovered reading on my phone, ebooks are so much more convenient! I also really love audio–it’s expanded the amount of time I can spend reading. I have to say I love all of them equally. 🙂
Which books are on the top of your TBR?
I don’t really have much of an answer for this one other than to look at my monthly TBR, my 20 Books of Summer, or any of the other reading challenges (bingo, #startonyourshelfathon) that I’m doing as those would be priorities buuuuuuuut, I’m currently mood reading so it’s kind of like whatever strikes my fancy at the moment!
I think one book I really want to get to soon is The House on the Cerulean Sea by T.J. Klune. Crossing my fingers!
Do you read mangas, comics or graphic novels, too?
Yes, I read all of them. Right now the only manga I’m actively reading is Card Captor Sakura Clear Card and Yona of the Dawn. I have subscriptions to a few comics, including Saga, and I’ve read graphic novels as well.
Recommend us a tv series!
I am absolutely in love with the television series version of What We Do in the Shadows. It’s hilarious. And vampires are always a plus for me.
Which city would you like to visit most?
Hmm, not a city but I’d love to visit Yellowstone National Park some day.
I also might like to revisit Atlanta because the only time I was there it was just for a day and we didn’t do much but visit the aquarium (which was amazing and I highly recommend!)

I am so happy you found the time to do the tag! And I am always late with them, too, so we are all in this together! 😅 I have to start both Chakraborty and Kuang’s series, but they are on my TBR so there is hope!! 😍
They’re both REALLY good series so I hope you enjoy them if you get to them. I did find The City of Brass kind of meh until the end and then I was like ‘FIVE STARS OMG’ haha. They’re both great series so far and ending this year so I’m kind of sad but also happy? lol
I can´t wait for the burning god!
Me neither, I need to see what’s going to happen to this precious little murder baby lol. 😀
Great post, Lisa! I really enjoyed reading your answers 😀 I also have a big problem with DNF’ing books and wish that it was easier for me. I just feel guilty? There are plenty that I put down to come back to later and haven’t yet though… But I’m reluctant to call those DNFs 😂
I feel really guilty too! Most of the time I’ll power through, I think there’s probably only about 10-12 books I’ve put down and haven’t picked back up….yet. LOL I get it, so reluctant! lol
Thanks for tagging me! 😀
I’m really excited for The Empire of Gold, too, and I need to read more Tanya Huff. I read the first two books in her Blood Books series years ago and enjoyed them a lot.
I love the What We Do in the Shadows film – I need to watch the TV series!
What We Do in the Shadows tv series is a lot of fun. I thought I wouldn’t like it because I love the movie so much and how can it compare? But it’s so hilarious.
Hope we both end up loving The Empire of Gold!
My style of DNF is very similar to yours. I put something aside because I’m not feeling it and then forget about it. Oops. I have a stack of those by my bed!
LOL. I don’t have a stack but I remember which ones they are. There’s probably about 10-12 so it’s not a lot compared to how much reading I do overall–I usually force myself to keep reading lol.
Thanks for nominating me!! 😀
I’m still a physical book snob, lol.
And I need to catch up on What We Do in the Shadows. I love that show!
Ditto visiting Yellowstone National Park. I’ve always wanted to go there.
I love physical books! I am just running out of room and I find I get so much more reading done on my phone lately lol. 🙂
Ooh, hope you get to catch up on WWDitS because it’s been really fun lately. 🙂
Thank you so much for tagging me I will do it as soon as I can.
You’re welcome! No pressure. 🙂
Thanks so much for the tag on this one! Oh my gosh, I can’t believe the third book is coming out and I still haven’t read R. F. Kuang yet. That cover, though. ❤ I'm in love.
Your blogging goals sound fantastic! It's so easy to get caught up in stats (hellooo, I'm so guilty of it, and I'll admit it). I just love your attitude. 😀
I used to totally be a physical book snob, too, but like you, I now try to experiment with different formats (and I totally love my Kindle).
You’re welcome! I’m really loving The Poppy War series, it’s been tough reading at times but always highly engaging.
Thank you!
I never ever thought I would love ebooks but here we are lol. 🙂
Lovely post – I love What We Do in the Shadows.
And, this reminds me I know I have a tag from you that I haven’t sorted yet – this weekend methinks.
Lynn 😀
What We Do in the Shadows is so much fun!
Hah, nice, can’t wait to see. 🙂
