This Week in Reading: Lot’s of Reading But Not Much SFF + r/Fantasy Virtual Con Schedule

Hello! Last week…feels like I was making up for lost time and read ALL OF THE THINGS.  Problem is, I didn’t read a ton of SFF. But that’s okay! I’m just happy to be enjoying books right now, no matter the genre. I read 3 Romance novels, 1 Romance novella, 1 graphic novel, and finished up the 2 SFF books I was almost finished with last week. So that’s 7 books! So, that’s a lot of reading–95% of it comfort reading and I’ve also neglected sleep somewhat to squeeze in extra book time. Yay anxiety?

I started Night Shift Dragons by Rachel Aaron in audio last week and I’m almost finished it, should be able to complete it by end of day. This is the last book in her DFZ series and I’m really enjoying it even though the complex father/daughter dynamics hit close to home sometimes.

I’ve started A Curious Beginning by Deanna Raybourn and so far loving it. I love books that blend genres so I have a feeling I’m going to have a very good time with this one. Thanks again to Mary from Sophril Reads for sending this one my way!

After I finish up Night Shift Dragons I’ll probably check out Race the Sands by Sarah Beth Durst since so many people seem to love that one. Not sure if I can commit to another book in print this week but we’ll see where my mood takes me–I also have a few romance novels I’d like to get through.

I don’t know if I’ll be able to finish up my TBR this month but hopefully I’ll be able to get through a few! I also have an eARC of The Obsidian Tower by Melissa Caruso and I’m hoping to get to that one before the end of the month since it comes out in June. What are you reading this week? Leave a note in the comments, I’d love to chat.

Well, you managed to read a lot nonetheless! And all the books you mentioned seems intriguing! This week I really hope to finish Saint’s Blood by De Castell, but I am not sure I would do it!

I wish I had time to read 7 books! And I wish I could force myself to stay up late and read. I love that you’re reading comfort books right now. Romance sounds good to me, luckily my next read is SF romance😁

I go through romances so fast! Also, to be fair, some of these were shorter books lol. I’m happy to be reading, wish it was SFF but I’ll take anything at this point. 🙂 Are you reading the new Mihalik? I need to catch up on that series.

The Ringmaster’s Daughter sounds pretty interesting! Hope you enjoy it til the end. 🙂

I’m hoping I’ll be able to get through A Curious Beginning soon and have a review up next month *crosses fingers*

Keep reading what you’re in the mood for is what I say.
And a big well done with all your organising for the virtual con – that must have taken a lot of sorting out.
    Lynn 😀

Thanks, that’s my plan–keep reading whatever I’m in the mood for. So far it’s a lot of romances lol.
Thank you! It’s been a LOT of work for me and some of the other mods but we’ve made a good team and we’ve learned a lot through the process so we know what to do better for next time, if we have a con again. 🙂

Wow, you’ve read a lot! Reading for comfort and mood is the best ❤ I mean, I say that as a mood reader who can never stick to a TBR haha I'm liking the look of both these books so I'm definitely going to check them out more! Happy reading 🙂
