A book that a certain friend is always telling you to read
Little, Big by John Crowley is a book one of my friends has been urging me to read for years. I’ve gotten some great book recs from him so I don’t know why I keep putting this off. I’ll admit the size is a little daunting, but I’ve read tomes before. Just have to get to it at some point.
A book that’s been on your TBR forever and yet you still haven’t picked it up
Cold Steel by Kate Elliot. This is actually book 3 of a series and I don’t know why I haven’t read it yet! I was super excited when it came out and everything. Maybe I’m scared because it’s the end of the series and even though I want to finish series sometimes I’m sad when they’re over.
A book in a series you’ve started, but haven’t gotten around to finishing yet
Well, I could pick from hundreds of books here because I’m terrible about starting series and not finishing them ahahahaha.
But let’s go with River Marked by Patricia Briggs, this is book 6 in her Mercy Thompson series which I have all intentions of catching up on one day. For sure.
A classic you’ve always liked the sound of, but never actually read
The Eye of the World by Robert Jordan! I want to check this out sometime. Maybe later this year once I get through these couple of months full of ‘obligated reading’.
A popular book that seems everyone but you has read
A Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin is a book I started but then about 15% in I put it down and never picked it back up. This has got to be one of the most popular fantasy books that I haven’t yet read besides The Eye of the World…
A book that inspired a film/TV adaptation that you really love, but you just haven’t read yet
To my great shame I have NOT yet read The Last Unicorn, but I have seen the movie. A lot. And I also have a graphic novel of the book signed by Peter Beagle (he’s a delightful man and I highly recommend meeting him if you ever get the opportunity).
A book you see all over Instagram but haven’t picked up
I’ve seen The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid everywhere, but especially insta. I guess it makes sense, that cover is so striking with the colors. I do hope to read this one some day.
That’s it for this tag, that was fun. As per usual not tagging anyone but if you’d like to fill this one out, consider yourself tagged!
