Time for another round up of books from my TBR to go through! Each week I’ll be going over a selection from my physical unread books and deciding what to keep and what to purge. There will be a third option–undecided–which I might ask for your input on why you think I should keep or purge that title from my list. You can also check out my full TBR pile here.

I found the first three books of this series at a used book store and it demonstrates exactly why I love browsing used titles–I have never in all my time on SFF forums, twitter, other bookish places, ever heard of this book and it sounds so weird and interesting. Haven’t had a chance to read this one yet, obviously, but there’s no way I’m purging these from pile. KEEP

The Tower at Stony Wood by Patricia McKillip

I will absolutely not be getting rid of any of my Patricia McKillip books as I do have plans to read all of these eventually. Also, the covers are always so very lovely and they make my book shelves more interesting if nothing else. 🙂 I guess I should make it my goal to read at least one McKillip before the year is out though… KEEP

Fablehaven by Brandon Mull

Honestly can not even remember what prompted me to buy this book. Was it a free one? Possibly. It does look like a fun book and it has a ton of ratings so it much be popular but…either way, I’m no longer interested. PURGE

The Book Collector by Alice Thompson

 

 

Alice Thompson’s new novel is a Gothic story of book collecting, mutilation and madness. Violet is obsessed with the books of fairy tales her husband acquires, but her growing delusions see her confined in an asylum. As she recovers and is released a terrifying series of events is unleashed.

 

 

 

This is one I picked up a few years ago, looking at recs on r/fantasy if I remember correctly. Although I could be wrong because it’s been a little while. This is a short one and I think the ‘gothic’ thing was a huge appeal. Since it’s short and shouldn’t be a long read I’m going to hang on to this one and hope I get through it eventually. KEEP

Used to be a HUGE fan of Rob Thurman back in the day and absolutely loved her Cal Leandros series of urban fantasy books. I bought everything else she wrote just because I wanted to support her work. Sadly, her series eventually got cancelled and I think she stopped writing after that. I haven’t ever read her other books that I purchased and I think I’ve moved on now, sadly. This and its sequel that are in my TBR, I think it’s time to part ways. PURGE
