The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Reviewer. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.
Random News And Goings-On
This week felt REALLY long! Work was kind of crazy, just lots of customer issues to solve, lots of phone calls, etc. Also lots of office drama to the point where I feel like I work at an office that’s depicted on one of those reality shows? Yeah…. Anywho, it’s the weekend and I didn’t really have any plans going into it except maybe catch up on the couple of old reviews I have left lingering in my drafts folder (only 3) and maybe read, maybe just relax, maybe work on one of my various house projects. So, what have I ended up doing so far?
Well, on Saturday my cat woke me up at 3:30am and I wound up binge watching all 6 episodes of The Ghost Bride on Netflix. It’s different from the book, but it was still good! The way it ended, I wonder if there’s going to be another season? If they do it would be all new material and frankly I would sign right the heck up for the further adventures of Li Lan and Er Lang. The only problem is…now I want to reread the book! 🙂
I also got a good amount of reading in and I’ll be summing that up tomorrow. Today…I have some housework to do and I may read some more or just chill out for the day, we’ll see how it goes!
As far as blogging, other than those couple of reviews, I’m really caught up on things! In fact I’m way ahead of the game for once. And it feels both great and also like I’m supposed to be doing more somehow. I think I’m just used to being in ‘oh shit, I don’t have a post for tomorrow yet’ mode, it’s going to take time to get used to being so far ahead of schedule again.
New Book Arrivals at Way Too Fantasy
One new physical book this week–this is the last OwlCrate book I’ll be getting for a while, I cancelled my subscription for the rest of 2020. I’m really excited about Scavenge the Stars by Tara Sim though, it looks fantastic and I couldn’t have asked for a better last book to get. There was also some other cool stuff in this box so I was pretty happy with it overall.
But, oh no! My TBR is still growing, it’s supposed to be shrinking! Ahahaha. Well, we’ll start on that next month once I’m finished these library books I guess. O.o
Picked up two audio books this month. First up is Blindsight by Peter Watts; I picked this one up for my r/fantasy bingo reading that I really have to get on soon because I only have about two months left and 10 squares to fill still!
I also picked up an audio copy of Dune by Frank Herbert. This has been one of my favorites for a long time but it’s also been a really long time since I read it last so I’m excited to be rereading this one for one of my book clubs next month.
That’s the news for this week, see you next time! Everyone enjoy the rest of your weekend. 🙂

It’s good that you’re caught up on things this week! I didn’t have enough time this week, so I’m a bit behind on blogging and reading. Good luck with your reread of Dune for your book club!
Thanks! Yeah, it feels great but also a bit weird being caught up for once 🙂
I know what you mean though, that happened to me and I was pretty much behind almost all of late last year. Thanks so much! I hope you’re able to catch up with things soon and get some reading in. Have a great week.
That edition of Scavenge the Stars is really pretty! It’s on my list to read at some point. Congrats on being caught up with blogging, I’m also feeling pretty good about blogging ahead and I may even start some posts for the FOLLOWING week. What?😁
I really love this new cover design they did for it too! Looking forward to digging into that one myself, I was really happy to find it in my owlcrate this month. 🙂
Thanks, Tammy! It’s a relief being caught up, now I just have to stay on top of things lol. Congrats on being caught up too! A week out is a pretty good lead. 😀
lots of office drama, and you feel like your work could be depicted on a reality tv show?
ummm . . . do we work at the same place??
I don’t know, is yours a toxic atmosphere as well?
My office is actually really small, there are only 4 employees and we all get along pretty well but everything is spurred on by my boss who can’t seem to help but create lots of drama. I really need to find a new job lol.
no, we’re not toxic, just sometimes very dramatic. and on my floor alone there is about 50 people. too bad, it would be cool if we worked together!
I don’t mind drama! It’s when things go too far lol. I’m sure we’d have fun working together! 🙂
Blindsight has been on my list for awhile so I’ll look forward to your thoughts on that. Scavenge the Stars- is that the one that’s a Les Miserables retelling in space? I was entertaining reading that one too.
Scavenge the Stars looks so lovely. Look forward to reading what you thought of it.
Thanks! Hopefully I’ll be able to get to it relatively soon-ish. 🙂
