This Week in Reading: Finally Reading Again

Well, last week was another tough one, but I pulled myself together and managed to finish 3 books over the weekend – two SFF books (both eARCs) and one romance. I’m really glad I’m back to reading and hopefully it will stick and I’ll be able to salvage my January. Huzzah.

Yes, I’m STILL not finished Steel Crow Saga. This might be the longest it’s ever taken me to finish an audiobook. I just haven’t been in the mood for listening lately and so have only really been listening about an hour or two a day so things have been going very slowly. The good news is that I only have a bout 6 hours left to this so I should definitely finish up this week. I’m enjoying it!

Next up, I’m going to dive into The Unbound Empire by Melissa Caruso. It’s about time I started on these library books! This one may or may not take me all week to get through, I guess it all depends on how enthralled I am with it. I really loved the last one, but I’ve also listened to the two previous books in audio so not sure what my reading time will be like. Damn the publisher for not releasing the third in audio. Anyway, looking forward to this one, it will also be nice to finish off this series!

If I manage to finish The Unbound Empire I’ll probably read Beauty by Sarah Pinborough, another library book I have out. My next audio will most likely be The Rise of the Magicks by Nora Roberts (another series I’m looking forward to completing). We’ll see how things go though.

So, those are my plans for this week! I don’t imagine a lot of interruption as I’m ahead in blogging stuff finally and I don’t have any plans this week or the coming weekend. But, as always, plans could change. Never know what life will throw at you. What are you reading this week? Leave a note in the comments, I’d love to chat!

Three books! That’s pretty awesome. I was trying to finish just one book (The Will and the Wilds) but didn’t quite make it. I’m bummed I have to work today because my stupid company doesn’t give us MLK Day off๐Ÿ˜ฌ

My stupid company doesn’t give us off either, but I work for a pretty small business (only 4 employees now) and my boss is stingy AF LOLOLOL so… My husband works for the government though so he was sleeping in when I left for work this morning. Good luck with finishing your book! I’m interested to see your thoughts on that one.

Any week I read at least two books Iโ€™m happy so youโ€™re doing great! I feel like Steel Crow Saga was a long book regardless (and dragged in some places for me). Glad you are enjoying it though!

Thanks! I feel like I’m playing catchup, had a slow start to the year lol. It does drag in some places to be fair. I’m still having a lot of fun with it though. I think it’s one that I appreciate the hell out of even if a few parts do bore me a little. I feel like maybe it could have been a bit shorter and the pacing would have worked better but then it maybe wouldn’t feel so ‘saga’-esque lol.

It’s all about perspective isn’t it – I always think 3 books is a good achievement. Two is more likely, especially this week. I’m currently reading The Bard’s Blade and Highfire and so far both seem good.

2 or 3 is good! I am playing catch up from a slow start. But I don’t feel behind because I finished up my review requests. ๐Ÿ˜€
Looking forward to your thoughts on Highfire–that one looks super fun. Have a great rest of your week, Lynn!
