Favorite Covers of 2019

As I’ve probably said a million times by now, 2019 was a fantastic year for new releases in SFF. Not only were there a lot of awesome books, but there was some pretty amazing cover art put out this year.

These covers all appealed to me for one reason or another. Either the artwork was intricate and particularly well done or the colors and texts were aesthetically pleasing. In some cases the cover art sold the book to me! Good job, cover art! All of these were books that came out in 2019 that I read. There were a lot of great covers for books I didn’t get to this year as well, but I wanted to make a list from books I actually got a chance to check out.

Did any of these covers make your favorites list? What were some of your favorite covers this past year? Leave a note in the comments, I’d love to chat.

It’s hard to pick a favorite because I loved a lot of these and for different reasons. I think I’m going to have to go with A Boy and His Dog at the End of the World. It was such an emotional journey with a bit of surprise to it and I really loved the way the story was told.

I adore “best covers” lists, I didn’t do one this year but I’m glad you did. I particularly love Storm of Locusts and The Priory of the Orange Tree😁

    Hallo, Hallo,…

I was just contemplating listening to “The Bird King” via audiobook – I admit, its a lushly brilliant cover! Also, my top picks from your collage of covers are as follows: Spin the Dawn, Sorcery of Thorns, The Beast’s Heart and PRIORY. All of which are on my TBR!!

I still need to assemble my *favourite of favourite books for 2019* post — those epic wonders I used to work on all the time on my blog and somehow since 2015 I have forgotten to release! lol I might do some time capsule posts for the missing years in 2020! Therefore, unsure which covers will make my top favourites for the year, as there have been quite a few which have truly felt special! 🙂

Those are my favorite covers of the bunch too, especially Priory–it’s such a standout for me in a year of great covers.
If you check out The Bird King I hope you enjoy it. It’s not a book for everyone but I really loved it.
Time capsule posts actually sound kind of fun!
