This Week in Reading: Continuing to Make Strides

Last week I had an okay week in reading, although I really struggled throughout most of the week and didn’t do much reading until the weekend. I managed to finish three books–two of them SFF and one Romance. I finally finished Angel Mage by Garth Nix, which I’ve been reading on and off for several weeks now. PHEW. I definitely have thoughts on that one and hope to have my review up soon. The other SFF book I read was The Hanged Man by K.D. Edwards, loved it! Also hope to have a review for that one out sooner rather than later.

My next read is another book I’ve been sent for review, The Will and the Wilds by Charlie N. Holmberg. I’ve kept trying to get to this one but wanted to finish up Angel Mage before diving in. Now that I’m done that one I’m free! I’m looking forward to this one because I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve read by this author so far.

In audio I’m still working my way through The Sinister Mystery of the Mesmerizing Girl by Theodora Goss. I had hoped to finish this one up last week but we were listening to a lot of music and work which was distracting and I didn’t get as much audiobook time is as normal. I should finish this one up early in the week though. I’m really enjoying it so far!

Next in audio, the plan is to start Steel Crow Saga by Paul Krueger.ย  I know some of my friends have really enjoyed this one so I’ve been looking forward to checking it out. I know this one will most likely be a two week read for me, especially since we have reduced work hours due to the holiday and that’s when I get most of my audiobook listening in.

If I finish up The Will and the Wilds (I don’t expect it to be a long read) then I’ll probably either read some manga or graphic novel volumes to try and get my year end total above 200 (sitting at 189 right now…). Or I might binge read some romance as a break. We’ll see how things go! Those are my plans for this week. Any thoughts on my book picks? What are you reading this week? Leave a note in the comments, I’d love to chat!

I’ve got this one and somehow I got an eARC for the new Michelle Sagara book that comes out in Jan. Luckily I didn’t go request crazy and I’m not so established/big that I get tons of books in the mail lol. PHEW. Good luck, Tammy!

Queen of the Conquered looks so good! Looking forward to your thoughts on that one. I’m also hoping to get some more books in but to get to 200, it’s going to be a tight schedule!

I do! I used to read a lot more than I do these days though. Right now I’m really into Yona of the Dawn, although probably one of my all time favorites is Rurouni Kenshin. I’m hoping to read CCS Clear Card sometime in the next week. ๐Ÿ™‚
