This Week in Reading: Plans? HAHAHA

Well, my reading went pretty off the rails last week. I finished FOUR books last week, but three of them were romance novels. I did manage to finish up Fevre Dream by George R.R. Martin though, so that’s one more bingo square down, woot!

I made some progress on some other books, but I confess I didn’t really stick to my reading plans. Well, it’s ‘anything goes as long as you finish your ARCs’ December apparently. O.o

So, I’m still reading Angel Mage by Garth Nix. I had to take a small step back from this one last week as it was feeling a bit heavy. So I read some romance novels and then came back to it this weekend and made some good progress on it! I’m really hoping to finish this one up soon so I can get my thoughts on it out there. 🙂

In audio I started Strange Grace by Tessa Gratton. I’m really enjoying this one so far. I like the writing style, it’s atmospheric, although I think it would probably go better for me with a different narrator for the audio. I should be able to finish this one up halfway through the week and move onto other things.

As for next reads….I’m also currently reading an eARC of A Beginning at the End by Mike Chen. I’m only a little way into it but LOVING it so far. I love post-apocalyptic anyway, but this one seems to have a thread of hopefulness running through it? It is putting me in mind of Sarah Pinsker’s debut novel, which I absolutely loved. So far, so good. Hoping to finish it up this week as well.

For audio I’m still planning on getting to The Sinister Mystery of the Mesmerizing Girl by Theodora Goss. It would be nice to finish up that series before the new year starts. 🙂

So, those are my plans such as they are. I can also see them getting interrupted by another romance binge but we’ll see how it goes. What are you reading this week? Leave a note in the comments, I’d love to chat!

I’m actually reading a book I bought! And that is a rare thing with me, as I am a slow reader and always behind with review books. And I already know Hollow Kingdom is going to be one of my favorite books of the year, so I’m glad I picked it up😁

I’m about to start the toll, and I’m so excited!

“HAHAHAHAHA” sounds about right for me too, I usually have 2-3 books in the cue to review, but I haven’t been reading much lately, if it weren’t for book memes and lists my blog would be mostly empty this month 😛

Luckily (?) I still have a bunch of book reviews in queue because of being behind before…..lol. I have a feeling this will be a book tag heavy month. Thank goodness for memes lololol. 🙂

Mike Chen is an author I want to check out when I have time (hahaha). I’m fluctuating between ARC catch-up and “damn it I just really want to read this book.” I’d love to be caught up on my 2019 ARCs before the year ends….we’ll see!

I hear what you’re saying cuz I’m sorta in the same place right now. Once I get these three ARCs done then I’ll have a little freedom, then I have one more ARC for a book that comes out late January. Good luck!

I’m reading Serpent & Dove as a mix of audiobook and ebook, as well as House of Salt and Sorrows as an ebook as well! Finished an ARC yesterday and I’m 3 books away from my Goodreads challenge, so things are coming up Milhouse!
