Well, last week started off really well. I was able to blast through the rest of ‘Salem’s Lot pretty quickly so that’s one book I finished. It took me a while to get through Siege & Sacrifice, however, because of time and other things.
Let’s see….last week I had the Baltimore Book Festival over the weekend (fun time, bigger recap coming on Sunday) and…what else? Oh yes, Thursday I wound up having to spend half the day in the emergency room due to stomach issues. Long story short–everything is fine and I will probably have to have my gallbladder out sometime in the near future. Needless to say, that sort of cut into my reading time. I was still feeling a bit dodgy (although no where near as bad) on Friday and into Saturday morning, but have been feeling mostly fine since. Yay.
This week I’ll be tackling my ‘for review’ pile a bit so I’m going to start with Sunkissed Feathers & Severed Ties by Kellie Doherty. This looks like a book that is totally up my alley and I have high hopes for it. Also, it may be a quick read and maybe I can sneak in another shorter book this week if I’m lucky.
In audio I’m currently listening to Spin the Dawn by Elizabeth Lim. This one is pretty fun so far. People were not kidding when they said Mulan + Project Runway. That is spot on so far. Interested to see where this story goes. Will probably finish this one up mid-week and move on to other things. I have my pre-order of Call Down the Hawk by Maggie Stiefvater coming in on Tuesday if I’m remembering right, so that will probably be my next audiobook.
So, those are my plans for this week such as they are. Now that book fest is over I just have my book club meeting this Sunday and then no bookish events for the rest of the year. I can finally get back to reading all the time, weee. 😀 What are your plans this week? Leave a note in the comments, I’d love to chat!
Enjoy your reading!
I’m currently reading Crown of oblivion and listenign to Quest of glory!

Thanks! I haven’t heard of either of those. Looking forward to your thoughts!
Ugh, trips to the emergency room suck! Glad you’re feeling better. I’m reading All Systems Red right now and will probably finish it today, and then I’m jumping into a November review book, but I’m not sure what at this point😁
It was my first time! Luckily the staff at the hospital I went to were all super nice and friendly. (Probably because it’s in a more affluent area lol)
All Systems Red! Love me some Murderbot! I’m trying to stay on top of review books myself, it’s tough. Good luck with whatever book you decide to go with. 🙂
I really enjoyed Spin the Dawn, it has an interesting blend of concepts in it! I’m working on A Memory Called Empire and I’m really enjoying it.
I’m almost halfway through now, really loving it. Looking forward to your thoughts on Empire!
Having to get your gallbladder removed doesn’t sound like you are fine 😦 But I’m glad you are doing better and that you were able to enjoy the book festival!! I hope you have a great week!
Well, it’s a minor surgery I guess. And I might not get it done right away, going to talk to my regular doc first. Thanks! 🙂
Trips to the emergency room suck. Glad that you’re feeling okay.
My next read is Dark Pattern by Andrew Mayne.
Lynn 😀
Thanks! I’m glad I’m feeling better too, that was not fun.
I don’t know if I heard of that one….hope you enjoy!
