Off the Grid Readathon is the brainchild of Shanah @ Bionic Book Worm and is hosted by her and Justine @ I Should Read That – both fabulous bloggers and members of the bookish community.
If you want to join in, the rules are pretty simple and you should read more about them at Justine’s announcement post. The basic low-down is read as much as you can during the weekend and keep technology distractions to a minimum!
Last time I participated in this readathon I had a lot of fun and finished about three books, some of which had been in my TBR pile for ages! I’m hoping to participate as much as I can this weekend (I’ll be working Friday), but between my house repairs (this week has been fun) and getting my husband prepped for his trip next weekend, we’ll see how much reading time I get in. I’m hoping to have at least some chill moments here and there to enjoy books, so during that time, I’ll be stepping away from the tech and focusing on reading when I can!
My basic TBR pile will be to finish off the print books already on my list for this week:
- The Spec Set by Taya Okerlund
- A Song For a New Day by Sarah Pinsker
And if I finish those then bonus books would be:
- The Blood Prince by Josie Jaffrey
- The Queen’s Advantage by Jessie Mihalik
Hopefully I’ll get a lot more time than I expect to join in because non-stop reading is so much fun and I rarely get the chance to enjoy it. I had such a blast last time! 🙂
I hope you will have a great time!

Thank you, Evelyn!
Your plan looks good! I’m excited to read A Song for a New Day, and I’m dying to read more Jessie Mihalik😁
I really enjoyed the first novella by Mihalik. It’s definitely got more of a serial feel to it in some ways, but I love the main male character in this one a lot. He’s slightly less alpha. Slightly. 😀
Thanks, I hope I can get enough reading time in!
Yay! I’m so glad you’re joining us AND I’m dying to hear what you think of A Song for a New Day!
Thanks! I’m excited to dive into that one myself 🙂
Good luck – hope it goes well. I know I couldn’t do a readathon – well, I suppose I could, but only an unplanned one.
Lynn 😀
Thanks! Hopefully I’ll be able to make the time. This week has been full of unexpected complications, such is life. 🙂
LISA you need to slow down your blogging game, I need to catch up on all your posts!! 😂 And good luck with the readathon! When I first heard about it, I thought you LITERALLY had to go off the grid, like, go hiking and read in the forest for 6 hours or something. But this sounds fun too! 😀
LOL. Sorry, I tend to have a lot of nervous energy because of my anxiety and right now it’s all focused on my blogging. I’m actually super ahead of things right now O.O.
Hah, that’s funny! I kind of thought the same thing at first, lol. Especially because one of my friends who does a lot of readathons also loves going on long hikes while reading via audio….so I just assumed? I’m glad I was wrong because I’m not meant for the woods! 😀
