Anticipation: The Christmas excitement is real, what book release(s) are you most anticipating?

Oh gosh, so many. Really too many to count. But if I have to narrow down a couple…probably Cast in Oblivion by Michelle Sagara, Storm of Locusts by Rebecca Roanhorse, and (a book I accidentally left off my anticipated books list because I didn’t realize it was coming out next year) The Girl with no Face by M.H. Boroson. Woot!

Christmas Songs & Carols: What book or author can you not help but sing it’s praises?

Hmm. So many books here too, haha.

Gingerbread Houses: What book or series has wonderful world building?

Fran Wilde’s Bone Universe series, starting with Updraft. So weird and wonderful. Why, yes, I would like a dystopian scarcity society living in towers of living bone where no one ever sees the ground.

A Christmas Carol: Favorite classic or one that you want to read

Favorite classic? Probably Dragonflight by Anne McCaffrey although it doesn’t quite hold up that well these days. I still have a ton of nostalgia about it though.

Christmas Sweets: What book would you love to receive for Christmas

Discworld books! Specifically those lovely newer hardcovers that are still coming out in the UK. I asked my husband for a few and judging by the boxes that I’ve seen arrive at the house…hopefully Santa delivered!

Candles in the Window: What book gives you that warm fuzzy feeling

The Goblin Emperor by Katherine Addison. This is my ultimate comfort read. The main character, Maia, is just so lovely and you really want everything to work out for him.

Christmas Trees & Decorations: What are some of your favorite book covers?

I like a lot of different styles of covers. Whether classic or a more modern style, something about it has to catch my eye and make me feel. Color is important for me, but I like monochrome as well sometimes if the design is interesting! Here are a few: The Snow Queen by Joan D. Vinge, Od Magic by Patricia McKillip, The Sisters of the Winter Wood by Rena Rossner, Sea of Rust by C. Robert Cargill, and The Raven King by Maggie Stiefvater.

Christmas Joy: What are some of your favorite things about Christmas And/Or some of your favorite Christmas memories?

Christmas has always been a time I’ve spent with family. My family is…kind of crazy sometimes, but I do love seeing everyone during the holidays. When I was little going over my mom’s parent’s at Christmas was always fun because my mom comes from a large family and there were always a lot of cousins to play with. We used to do a secret gift exchange and one year my older cousin bought me a Lionel Richie tape–I think I still have it, hahaha.

Those are my answers! As per usual, not tagging anyone but if you feel like this tag speaks to you, please consider yourself tagged. 🙂

Right?! I am so excited for that book! I think I’ll probably just wait and buy a copy cuz I like Matt so want to throw some money his way, but also I am so behind on things anyway, haha.
Did you hear there is a tv show in development? I have high hopes that it will come to fruition. 😀

Ooo, the Michelle Sagara series was my default audiobook selection for my commute from hell for many years. I honestly don’t know where I stopped in that series, I enjoyed the narrator so much it felt wrong to physically read them lol. Since I don’t do audiobooks much anymore, I sadly fell off…..
