This Week in Reading: In Like a Lion

Well, we’ve somehow made it to March! I can’t believe this year is going by so quickly. Now, I didn’t quite get all my reading done over the weekend and only managed to finish up one of the two books I had to complete. That being said, I did relisten to and this time finish the new Beowulf translation by Maria Dahvana Headley (it’s sooooo good). So I guess I achieved 14 books after all even though it wasn’t the ones I intended. Still, I did wind up getting through a lot of other things on my to-do list over the weekend and, quite frankly, I only have so much time. It’s moments like this that I wish I had some kind of mutant powers or at the very least a time turner. But I don’t and so here we are.

Nonetheless I did manage to complete a grand total of two books last week, lol. Also I was super busy during the week dealing with some family time and friend emergencies so my reading time was cut rather short. I’m hoping I can get back into the swing of things this week to catch up on my reading and a few reviews that need writing. New month, new week, new reading! (Except it’s not new reading because I’m still reading the same books…ah well.)

In print I’m still working on The Unbroken by C.L. Clark. Really loving this one so far, it is dealing with a lot of complex issues around colonialism and I feel like there’s also a bit of a mystery to be solved. I’m still not very far into it but I love what I’ve read of it.

In audio I’m still working on Spirit’s End by Rachel Aaron, the final Eli Monpress novel. This book is amazing so far, shaping up to be a wonderful conclusion! I’m almost finished this one, hopefully will be done mid-week if not sooner. I don’t know what my next audio will be but I’m thinking maybe the next of Huff’s Confederation series (I have such a long way to go with that series lol).

For physical print books I’ll be working on The Ruthless Lady’s Guide to Wizardry by C.M. Waggoner. This is r/fantasy’s HEA book club pick for March and I’m really looking forward to it. One of the other mods recently read it and had a good time with it so it should be one that I like.

We’ll see how much reading I can get in this week. Hopefully a lot. Although I did also have a new dollhouse kit arrive so who knows. 😉 What are your plans for this week? Leave a note in the comments, I’d love to chat!

I can’t wait to see the finished dollhouse😁 I just finished an awful book and now I need a palette cleanser so I’m starting The Ladies of the Secret Circus today😁

I love the cover of The Ruthless Lady’s Guide to Wizardry. It’s also a book I’ve not heard of before so looking forward to reading your thoughts on it. My TBR list is huge but I can always find room for one more book 😀

A new kit? That sounds amazing!! And I am glad you are enjoying your read! They all are books that I want to read, sooner or later, so that sounds promising!!
Also, a time turner would be needed here, too, but we do how we can!!

Yes, although I’m probably not going to start the new kit until next week or so, I have to get some glue and I need time to catch up on reading/blogging and some house projects lol.
Yeah, I’m excited about my TBR for this week and yet I’m in a bit of a reading funk so checking out some ‘lighter’ titles and hopefully can come around by the weekend. 🙂

Hopefully I can get back into it, my reading has taken a bit of a dive over the last couple of days so I read a lighter book in between…hoping to get out of the ‘funk’.
