Well, I had an excellent week in reading last week! Although I majorly underestimated how long it would take for me to finish up my audio book of A Sky Beyond the Storm and that wound up taking me most of the week instead of the one or two days I had anticipated so I didn’t really get a chance to dive into the new audio. Oh well. But other than that, great week in reading! I finished SIX books–five print and one audio (finally). Three SFF and three Romance (all historicals). I’ve been trying to make an effort not only to work on my physical TBR but also my digital TBR and have been looking through and reading some ebooks I’ve had in queue for a while and Romances usually make for pretty quick reading. This isn’t a pace I can keep up with for long but it was nice to have a spurt of heavy reading for a bit!
Let’s see what I have planned for this week.
First up in print I’ll be reading The Deepest Blue by Sarah Beth Durst. Now I got this one a while ago before I had read any of Durst’s books but have since read Race the Sands and loved that one so I’m very much looking forward to checking this one out (even more than before).
In audio I’m (finally) starting on Forest of a Thousand Lanterns by Julie C. Dao. Not even going to guess how long it will take me to get through this one since my audio book reading is so erratic lately. But, what I can tell you is that I’m very excited for this book!
In other reading news, I finally got all of the Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicles manga volumes! Look how awesome they are, all lined up and waiting to be read.
So I’m trying to figure out when I can start my binge read. I’m thinking some time in March because I have so much of my February reading planned out already (even though I said I wasn’t going to do that….it just worked out that way, because I’m me and that’s how I roll). But who knows, the mood could strike me before then! (I hope it doesn’t though–I have so many other things to read right now. Please, mood, cooperate with me for once!)
So, that about sums things up for this week’s reading. What are you reading this week? Leave a note in the comments, I’d love to chat!
I’d love to read more Sarah Beth Durst too. I do have an eARC of her upcoming book but I can’t remember when it comes out. Congrats on finishing so many books last week😁
Yeah, I’ve been meaning to check out her work for years and only got around to it last year, now I’m keen to read more. Hope you enjoy your eARC! Thanks, it was a whirlwind reading week haha.
Enjoy your reading!
I’m currently reading Black Prism and listening to Labyrinth Lost!

Thanks, Evelyn! I’ll be looking forward to your thoughts on those.
OH NO I was going catch up on your other posts but I saw Tsubasa and I had to zoom over here. That series was my mid-teen obsession and I spent so much time after school staked out at the library waiting for returns to come in like some kind of book raccoon (the hold limit for comics was really small if I remember). I really really really hope you love it. I don’t think you can NOT binge it once you get started, especially once you hit a certain arc….;)
LOL, book raccoon! Hahahahahaha.
I really love CLAMP, I’ve read so many of their series over the years (Cardcaptor Sakura is a favorite). I am really looking forward to Tsubasa. I should probably also read xxxholic at the same time but I couldn’t invest in all 18 or whatever volumes of those at the same time haha.
Ahhh Sakura was my first CLAMP love ❤ And the first anime I watched that wasn’t for kiddies haha . XXXholic is really good too! And incredibly emotional in a way I did NOT expect
I’m trying to think because I think my *first* CLAMP was probably Magic Knights Rayearth, but I just LOOOOVE Sakura so much. I was all up in the fandom for that one and everything. Embarrassingly so. LOL. I’m def. going to read xxxholic, but maybe not til later in the year or next year (have to buy them all because my library doesn’t have these ‘older’ titles ugh).
Yeah Sakura is just so OOF. One of its kind and so so so special. I was a waddling 6-yo with a huge crush on Yue lmao. Also coincidentally, my new self-host design plans maaay be influenced by the xxxholic setting. 😛
Ooooh, well I can’t wait to see that haha. 🙂
Well, I was a *bit* older when I got into CCS lol. BUT. I may have also still had a bit of a crush on Yue. Was it the wings? Maybe. 😉
Oh for sure the wings. And I think I just have a thing for all the blonde characters in the CLAMP universe 😂 Once you start reading Tsubasa you *gotta* tell me your thoughts on Fae. He’s similar to Yukito/Yue in some ways but also suuuuuper different
Oh well I had kind of started it once? I read extensively *about* Tsubasa at any rate at one point. So I am familiar with who Fae is and YES. I think it’s the look, yeah. Lol
Working my way through the last Hail Bristol book! But man, it picks up like three seconds after the last book ended and I was soooo lost lol. My brain has too many things in it.
The plight of the book blogger–we read so many books it’s hard to keep everything straight!
Congrats on reading six books!! That’s awesome! And oh my gosh so many manga volumes they look so GOOD!
Thanks, Kaya! It was awesome. A bit exhausting, but fun hah. 🙂
Wow congrats on reading so many books!! I haven’t read a lot recently because I didn’t have the best luck with the books I was reading. Hopefully the second half of the month will be better! 😀
I hope that you get some better books soon! I think part of what made me read so much was just enjoying what I was reading (for the most part).
Currently reading The Sanatorium which gets off to a very quick and creepy start.
Lynn 😀
Oh, that sounds interesting, I hope you enjoy it Lynn! Creepy can be fun if one is in the mood for it. 🙂
I’m in a romance funk and I’ve been marathoning Alyssa Cole’s Reluctant royals series. Your week sounds wonderful!!!
Those are fun books–I need to catch up on that series as well haha. Thanks! It’s been okay, can’t complain. 🙂
