This Week in Reading: Running in Place

Well, this week was a very strange week in reading for me. I didn’t have much downtime at all and even though I read a little each night it didn’t seem to be enough to get through any one book. The other issue is that I seem to have a bit of reading ADD at the moment and keep bouncing between several books and finishing none of them. I did manage to finish to manga volumes so there’s that, I guess.

I’ve gotten a little bit behind on blog hopping again as this weekend was busy. Okay no, that’s a lie. I was going to read on Saturday but ended up marathoning a Kdrama instead and then Sunday we had my inlaws over for dinner so I spent a chunk of the day cleaning the house and then with company. Welp. Guess I’ll be playing catch up again–that’s nothing new, sadly.

Once again I’m listening to Blue Angel by Phil Williams. I didn’t get a chance to start this last week like I’d hoped because it took me all week to finish up Borne by Jeff VanderMeer. The only downside to having a super short commute!

In print I’m still reading The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by V.E. Schwab. I’m enjoying this one so far. I’m definitely intrigued about this Henry character that’s popped up. I have a feeling I know where this is going but I’m gonna wait and see how it all pans out. πŸ™‚

I’m also reading Spellmaker by Charlie N. Holmberg. This is one I accepted for review and is a sequel to Spellbreaker which I enjoyed. I’m a fan of Holmberg so I’m having fun with this book. I just wish my focus wasn’t so scattered right now!

Well, this week will be interesting. I have a full week at work that’s going to be very busy and I also have a dreaded dr’s appt on Tuesday to see about this weird blister on my eyelid (wish me luck). And then on Saturday I have two other appts. and we’ll also be going into the final prep for Christmas. At least our house is already clean… Anywho, hopefully I can finish a book or two in there somewhere! What are your reading plans this week? Leave a note in the comments, I’d love to chat!

I think marathoning a kdrama is perfectly acceptable during a pandemic, lol. I spent a lot of time getting my house ready for my kids, who come home this week, woo woo! So I didn’t read as much as I wanted to either. Hope you have a good week, Lisa😁

Oooh, nice! I hope you have a great family visit, you must be so excited for them to come home!
Thanks, Tammy! Hope you have an amazing week as well. πŸ™‚

Which kdrama? Sorry, I am just so nosy!! πŸ˜‰ This weekend I was hoping to go back to watching The Untamed but I read instead, and I have finished Spellbreaker! I have you to thanks for it. I didn’t love it, but I enjoyed it anyway and I hope to read the sequel before the ending of the year!!

I was watching Was it Love, mainly because I used to love Song Ji-hyo from when I used to watch the Running Man variety show back in the day. πŸ™‚ It was pretty fun.
Oh yeah, I remember you were watching that. I keep meaning to rewatch it… haha.
Oh, I’m glad you enjoyed it well enough. I’m enjoying the sequel so far. πŸ™‚

I am so behind with dramas!! I think I would make it a goal for the new year, to watch more of them!!
And I am glad you are enjoying the sequel of Spellbreaker, I hope to read it in the weekend!

I used to watch almost nothing but dramas, now it’s only one or two a year if that. Although I think maybe this year I watched 3 or 4. Maybe I’m making a comeback…lol. Thanks, Susy! Hope you enjoy it when you get to it.

This is the time of year where I pretty much say, screw it, and do whatever/read whatever I want so I get the kdrama marathoning πŸ˜› I’m glad to see you’re reading Addie LaRue…that one might just be my favorite book of the year. I can’t wait to hear what you think when you’re done πŸ™‚

    • waytoofantasy says:

Haha.. Usually me too but I somehow suddenly ended up with a bunch of review books whooooops! I’m still probably going to do whatever. πŸ˜‰ Hopefully I’ll finish Addie LaRue this week, I’m very much looking forward to how this story shakes out. I *think* I know where it’s going but we’ll see whether I’m right lol. πŸ™‚

Haha scattered focus is such a mood for EVERYTHING right now. Like, wow. πŸ˜… I’ve also been having such a hard time focusing on anything and right now I’m pushing myself to stick to the two books I have to read for upcoming blog tours but my focus is having a hard time dealing with it! LOL It’s screaming at me to pick up all the books right now. Sigh. Anyway, hope you have a better reading week ahead, Lisa? Happy reading! ❀️

ie: The Silvered Serpents – that ending! She really likes to keep us hanging on til the next book, eh?
Hope you enjoy The House in the Cerulean Sea, I loved that one so much, one of my favorites of the year.
Good luck with blog hopping! I know it’s hard to keep up, it’s so time consuming.

Whatever keeps us all happy is totally good and valid.
I think sometimes I have a self destruct button when it comes to catching up because as soon as I seem to make progress I go off the rails again.
