The Sunday Post #43

thesundaypost

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Reviewer. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

Random News And Goings-On

I’m SUPER happy to say that we now have a brand new bathroom! Well, mostly. There are still a couple of touch ups that need to be done and then I need to finish putting my stuff back in there. We also bought some new bathroom accessories this weekend (towels, rugs, shower curtain, etc). Below is a thread of before and after pics. I do kind of want to get another new towel shelf for between the tub and toilet (our old one got moved downstairs into our basement toilet room), but we’ll see. I haven’t finished putting all our stuff back in there either so that will be interesting to see how I fit it. (We have a lot of bathroom stuff….). Also, that gray curtain is temporary, we need to install a proper curtain rod and maybe get a curtain to match the blue shades I got our accessories in.

What else have I been up to? Well, I worked on pulling out books I’ve decided to purge from my shelves from my great TBR project that I started with last year when I re-cataloged everything. So I’ve been working on reorganizing my shelves. I’ve even purged some of my read books because I’m in a purging mood. Hopefully this means my shelves look less messy and have more room for books I actually want in my life. πŸ™‚ I took a few of the purged books up to a nearby little free library that was nearly empty and filled it up with SFF books. I may save some more of my purged ones to refill it again instead of donating them to goodwill….

Things continue to be stressful (they started demo on my kitchen but then took a break to finish the bathroom which SHOULD have done been finished and I think they’re behind now on that so…yeah. I’m probably not going to be able to go away the end of this month like I had planned but for now I still have the time off from work…we’ll see what happens.

New Book Arrivals at Way Too Fantasy

Physical Books

Two new arrivals! One of my friends sent me the new deluxe edition of Dune! Isn’t it pretty??? I love it so much.

I also bought a copy of The Seventh Perfection by Daniel Polansky. Mainly because that cover! But also because I’ve heard great things. I….have pretty much broken my ‘book buying ban’ at this point, OH WELL. Look, it’s 2020, we have to do that which brings us joy at this point, right?

Ebooks

Not as many ebooks as last time (phew!) but I have added several new ones, yet again. πŸ˜€

  • May Day by Josie Jaffrey – I saw a review Dini wrote of this one and since I’ve loved some other books by this author I decided to pick it up!
  • Emergency Contact by Mary H.K. Choi – Mary at Mary and the Words mentioned this one and I think it will be one that I’ll love so I’m looking forward to checking it out
  • The Phlebotomist by Chris Panatier – after seeing a couple of very positive reviews of this one around the blogosphere, I decided to pick up a copy of this one to check out
  • The Duke Who Didn’t by Courtney Milan – a new Courtney Milan historical romance yay!!!! Already have devoured this one of course πŸ™‚
  • The Shadows Between Us by Tricia Levenseller – this is actually a library loan, can’t wait to see what this is about because I think it’s going to be my brand of cheese.

Audiobooks

My pre-order for Battle Ground by Jim Butcher came in, yay! It might take me a bit to get to this one as I have some other planned reading for audio first, but we’ll see what happens–my mood can change things.

That’s the news for this week, see you next time!

Your remodelled bathroom looks very slick. When we bought this house 15 years ago I had every intention of renovating the ensuite which has a pink pedestal sink and brown shower tiles, but it always seems to be last on the list. One day maybe!
Dune is one of my mother’s favourite books, I’m curious about The Phlebotomist.

Wishing you a great reading week

Yeah, we bought this one about 13 years ago and the bathroom and kitchen have been things we’ve meant to redo for years, the bathroom was starting to fall apart, literally, so it was time and we decided to do both at once. There were always more pressing things before this and now we were finally in a place where we could get this done.
I love Dune! It’s definitely one of my favorite classics. πŸ™‚

Thanks! I hope you have a great reading week as well.

Omg, the new tiling in your bathroom is amazing! It looks so good and I love the colour scheme πŸ˜ƒ Good luck with the kitchen remodel! That new edition of Dune is gorgeous 😍 I hope you enjoy May Day and also Emergency Contact — read it last year and I adored it! Have a great week ahead!

Thank you! I’m so happy with the new look. I wanted something with neutral colors in case we sell the house one day, but also something we could be happy with. πŸ™‚
Thanks! It will be hectic til all the renovation stuff is done but I am looking forward that day LOL
I think I’ll probably love both of those books. πŸ™‚ Hope you have a great week too!

Your bathroom looks absolutely amazing, CONGRATS! Also, just the mere mention of Emergency Contact is making me want to go pull it off my shelves for a fourth read. And I finished The Shadows Between Us over the weekend, and I was just straight up cackling at the ending, it was wonderful. I hope you enjoy both!

Thank you, I’m super pleased with the transformation. πŸ˜€
Haha, that is quite a recommendation. Hopefully I’ll get to Emergency Contact soon, I have an ARC and a couple of library books to get to first (one of them is The Shadows Between Us–finally got it to download hah). Thanks!

Your bathroom looks amazing. Just the kitchen now – hope that one stays on track (even though it already seems to be behind – maybe they’ll catch up and surprise you).
