I saw this tag over on Misty’s Book Space and thought it would be fun to fill out. 🙂 This tag was created by Our BookNook over on YouTube. Let’s get to it!
Must-Have
A book you *have* to have with you while quarantined?
The Goblin Emperor by Kathrine Addison–just in case I need to re-read it to feel happy and wholesome. Also Red, White and Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston for the same reason. 😀
Isolation
A book where the MC spends most of their time in a book Alone?
The Obsidian Tower by Melissa Caruso although this is cheating a bit. In the book they’re not really alone all that much, HOWEVER, they are coming from a place of isolation. Despite being surrounded by people the main character is always alone because she can’t come within a certain distance of people or other living things without her magic literally sucking the life out of them and so that’s definitely created a sense of isolation and loneliness for her.
Binge Read
A long book series you’d recommend to someone who has a lot more time on there hands?
One I recently binge read was The Elemental Mysteries by Elizabeth Hunter. This was a fun series if you’re into vampires, paranormal romance / urban fantasy. It’s four books so it might keep you occupied for a little bit. 😀
Of course if you want to go for something a little different and also take a gander at something that’s still ongoing I recommend the manga Yona of the Dawn by Mizuho Kusanagi. Really great epic fantasy series that starts off pretty predictable and immediately takes a turn into left field. There are at least 21 volumes published in English so far and more in Japanese. (There’s also an anime.)
Toilet Roll
All the TP is gone! What are you using?
Well I do have several books that I’ve put on my purge list so I could probably use those haha. Maybe Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin since my copy isn’t that great and it’s a huge book with thin pages? LOL! I’m trying to think practically here haha.
Anti-viral
A book that went Viral that you have avoided or not read … yet?
Speaking of Game of Thrones….lol. There are a lot of popular books that I haven’t read yet though. I’m going to go with The Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson. I’m super picky about starting long epic fantasy books/series because they’re so….large and daunting and I like to read a lot of different books instead of getting stuck in one series all the time and sometimes these huge epic tomes bog my reading down.
And that’s all for this one. Like always, not going to specifically tag anyone however if you want to fill this one out please feel free!
Lolol this book tag pulls no punches
I know right?!
Fun tag! I may do this, although I always say that about tags and then forget, lol🤣
Hah! I bookmark them so that I don’t forget about them and then when I’m looking for post ideas I’m like ‘oh yeah, let me see what tags I have collected’ LOL
This looks like so much fun! I want to do this before I forget lol
I hope you get a chance to fill it out, it was an interesting one to think of books for. 🙂
I think I’m going to do it next week! 🙂
Looking forward to your answers! 🙂
I’ll make sure to tell you as soon as I answer them 🙂
Yay! 🙂
Yay so glad you did it and I loved reading your answers. Also now I’m trying to remember what books I put for my answers because I have completely forgot lol.
LOL I know what you mean though, things go right out of my head as soon as I’m done with them sometimes (this is why it’s best I write my reviews almost as soon as I finish a book lol).
Yes I have the worst memory. If I don’t write my reviews immediately after finishing a book I struggle to write them later.
Lol at GOT for your TP.
Not surprised to see Goblin Emperor as your must have book 🙂
LOL well…. 😉
I guess it’s expected of me now since I talk about it so much haha. 🙂
It makes me feel hesitant to start a really long series too, but I’ve heard the best things about Brandon Sanderson, so I’ll be reading more of his books in the future 🥰✨
He does have a couple stand-alones from what I understand, even though most of his stuff takes place in the same greater universe, I do think I want to pick up one of those at some point. 🙂 Hope you get to try out some of his work!
this looks like such a fun tag, great post! i hate reading super long books too, but Sanderson is so good. and yet i still haven’t picked up the way of kings hehe😂😅
I’ve read a couple of his books, but The Way of Kings is such a tome. I might still check it out one day if I can get up the fortitude to dive in haha. 🙂
Awww!! I had been looking for reasons to read Red, White, and Royal Blue and YOUR ANSWER HAS GIVEN ME ONE!😍😍😍❤️❤️
Whoaaaa!! You are gonna use GOT as TP?!? 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 *heartbroken*
RWaRB is soooooo good, I hope you love it!
Well…for practical reasons only though haha.
🤣🤣
AHAHAHAHAH!!!! poor GAME OF THRONES!!! lol
It felt like a good one to pick for practical reason haha. 🙂
LOL the TP prompt! 😂 that’s really got me thinking what I’d use haha 😂 Great tag! I just might do this next week…
I never know what to put for a prompt like that LOL! 🙂
This was a fun one to fill out!
ROTFLMAO!!! I’m sure GRR Martin never envisioned such an…uncommon use for his epic!
😀 😀 😀
Lol, he seems like a practical guy, he might not mind 😉
I can’t say I feel particularly wholesome while reading RWRB, hahahaha, but I would also definitely need to have it during quarantine!
LOL weeeeelll maybe ‘wholesome’ is a bit of a stretch for the sexy times and politics but the romance felt particularly wholesome to me hahaha. 🙂
Great fun – loved your TP answer – very funny.
Lynn 😀
Hah! Thanks. I really don’t see any other way to answer that one lol!
