Last week I had a pretty good week in reading. I finished three books–two romance novels and a fantasy novel. I finished up The Will and the Wilds by Charlie N. Holmberg and hope to have a review of that up soon. I didn’t make much progress in audio because I just wasn’t in the mood while at work and there were other things going on. Hopefully I I will get back on track this week with audio now that the weird distraction of the holidays is over and things can get back to normal.
In print I’ve started my ARC of Cast in Wisdom by Michelle Sagara. This is book 15 (I think?) of her Chronicles of Elantra series. I’m such a huge fan of these books, I was really excited to get approved for an ARC. This is the last book I have for review for now, after this one I’ll be all caught up (with the exception of two very, very old review requests from self-published authors which I do still plan on getting to at some point). Really enjoying this one so far, great to be back in this world.
In audio I’m still working my way through Steel Crow Saga by Paul Krueger. I’ve restarted it and am listening on a slower speed and that seems to have helped with me being able to pick up on what’s happening in it, although it is still a little bit confusing but I’m just going to go with it and hope for the best. π It will probably take a week or more for me to finish this one up.
It shouldn’t take me long to finish up Cast in Wisdom, after that I have lots of possibilities. A Curse So Dark and Lonely comes out tomorrow so I might dig into that one, or I might start one of my library books (since they’re due back soon and are the only other major priorities I have right now). We’ll see what I feel up to.
Those are my plans for this week! Thoughts on these books? What are you reading? Leave a note in the comments, I’d love to chat!
I just finished The God Game but I haven’t decided what to read next. Maybe The Will and the Wilds?
It’s very romance-y if you’re in the mood for that. π
Just finished THE SHADOWS BETWEEN US which was an excellent YA fantasy romance. Moving on to The Unspoken Name this week as part of a buddy read!
Oooh, YA fantasy romance??? Buddy read sounds fun! I was thinking of doing one this year but I’m not sure how to go about it lol
Our buddy read is literally just four people in a Twitter DM thread lol. Nothing overly formal at all, just multiple people reading the same book at roughly the same time.
Nice! That’s definitely one way to do it.
Enjoy your reading!
I just picked up The last wish, so that I can hopefully watch the witcher soon!

Thanks, Eveyln! Nice, I’ll look forward to your thoughts on that one. π
Ack sorry to hear about your struggles with Steel Crow Saga — but good warning for me to not go into it unless I am ready.
Yeah it’s just a bit confusing at the beginning, it may work better in print. It’s picking up though!
I hope steel Crow Saga has picked up a little since you posted.

I didn’t get too far into it (maybe 5 hours?), but where I’m at now the story is definitely picking up. I’ll probably listen to some this weekend. π
