Anticipated Book Releases of 2020

Well, last year I had a HUGE list of anticipated releases for 2019. This year I’m going to do something a little differently due to my reading goals with trying to concentrate on my current TBR (books I already own) and allowing myself primarily to only buy sequels to series I’m already reading.  All that being said, there are still a lot of sequels set to come out this next year that I hope to be reading!

  • A Heart So Fierce and Broken (Cursebreakers #2) by Brigid Kemmerer
  • A Longer Fall (Gunnie Rose #2) by Charlaine Harris
  • Cast in Wisdom (Chronicles of Elantra #15) by Michelle Sagara
  • A Conjuring of Assassins by (Chimera #2) Cate Glass
  • Stormsong (The Kingston Cycle #2) by C.L. Polk
  • Breath of Gods (Legacy of the Heavens #3) by Tina LeCount Myers
  • Night of the Dragon (Shadow of the Fox #3) by Julie Kagawa
  • The Empire of Gold (The Daevabad Trilogy #3) by S.A. Chakraborty
  • Unravel the Dusk (The Blood of Stars #2) by Elizabeth Lim
  • The Silvered Serpents (The Gilded Wolves #2) by Roshani Chokshi

There are also a few non-sequels that I’m looking forward to in 2020 and maybe I can circumvent my book buying ban by getting my husband to buy them for me. The two that I’m most looking forward to is Unconquerable Sun by Kate Elliott (billed as a gender-swapped Alexander the Great in space) and Empire of the Vampire by Jay Kristoff (vampires!!!! by Kristoff!!!).

Those are some of the books I’m looking forward to! Thoughts on these? What are some that you’re looking forward to next year? Leave a note in the comments, I’d love to chat!

I thought next year would be sequel light when I was putting together this list initially but I was wrong! So many sequels are coming out again next year. I have a feeling 2020 will be another fantastic year of new releases. 🙂

So excited for Night of the Dragon! I’m on the fence about Conjuring of Assassins, there were parts I liked and didn’t like about An Illusion of Thieves. Right now I’ve got too many review books already to justify trying to get an ARC, but I may pick it up post release.

Yeah, I have a feeling Night of the Dragon is going to be amazeballs. 🙂
I know what you mean about An Illusion of Thieves. I think some of the things I can see bothering other people weren’t as much of an issue for me. I’m still probably going to pick up post release as I have been scaling back my netgalley requests lol.

I haven’t read a few of these- but I did love An Illusion of Thieves! And I’m definitely looking forward to A Conjuring of Assassins. I’m on the fence about Stormsong, I don’t know how I feel about the POV switch.

Aaaah Unconquerable Sun and Empire of Gold – can’t wait! I haven’t done my research on what’s coming out next year yet so this post was a fabulous and timely reminder, thank you 🙂

I haven’t done a ton of research either, I have had my eye on Unconquerable Sun since before it had a title and Kate Elliott said she was working on it on twitter ages ago LOL. The only books I’m really keeping an eye out for other than that are sequels I need to read. 🙂
