Hello all! This past weekend was supposed to be a catch up weekend and I did manage to make some progress with a few things for once (even though I am still behind in writing reveiws, whoops!). I did some maintaince things with the blog–updated my review index and upcoming release pages, prescheduled a few posts, etc–and caught up with last weeks’s reading for the Dragons of Autumn Twilight readalong hosted by Jason from Off The TBR. I also made some great audiobook progress as I was getting some projects done around the house. Caught up on a few other book related things too. Overall, a very productive week/weekend. I also managed to finish one book and start another so huzzuh. Progress! It’s amazing what having a plans-free weekend will allow you to get done. π Let’s see where I’m at and what my plans for the next week are.
I’m a little more than halfway through Crimson Nightmare by Zoey Rivera. It’s okay, but honestly not really for me. Still, going to finish it because it’s fulfilling a square for bingo and it’s not that long. Also, I don’t think it’s really litrpg as its definied but it’s close enough and I’m gonna use it for that square anyway. And who knows? Maybe I’ll end up loving it by the end! There’s always a chance it could still surprise me.
I’m also a little over halfway through Dark Age by Pierce Brown. I want to say that I’m enjoying this one but that’s hard to do when this book is completely and utterly destroying me emotionally. Thanks, Pierce! So much crazy stuff has happened and I still have so much more book to go…I don’t know how I’m going to make it out the other side intact lol. By the end of the week I think I’ll need a lot of hugs.
Finally, another book that may destroy me, The Queen of Nothing by Holly Black. This is one of my most anticipated books of the year and it arrives on Tuesday. I can’t wait. I also don’t know how I’ll stop myself from binge reading this Tuesday night once I get home from work but we’ll see because I’m also old and tired LOL.
Once I finish up Dark Age I’m out of audiobooks for my Autumn TBR so if I manage to finish up mid-week, well, I have some bingo reads in my audio queue and also a couple of ‘feel good’ books. We’ll cross that bridge when we come to it. Other than that, hoping I stay caught up with DoAT readalong, my blogging, and other commitments! I have another free weekend ahead so I should be able to get some things done again and play even more catch up, yay. What are your plans this week? Any thoughts on mine? Leave a note in the comments, I’d love to chat!
Looks like you had a good resding week! Hopefully the next is just as good!

Thanks, Evelyn! It was pretty good. π
I’m getting my copy of Queen of Nothing tomorrow too! Not sure when I’ll read it, but I’m glad I’ll have it in my handsπ
It’s one of the few books that I will push all my other reads out of the way for lol! π
Still working my way through #scifimonth TBR, but starting to look ahead to December. I’d been hoping for a “quiet” month of backlist reading, but I’ve fallen a little behind with my ARC reading, and I’d love to clear out all my 2019 requests before the new year, so looks like some rearranging to the reading schedule is in my future!
I have two ARCs I need to get to in December, I think everything else will be backlist stuff. I hear ya on catching up on things. That will basically be my reading plan for 2020 LOL π
I have….*glances at stack* many more than 2. I went a little overboard at the last minute….π
Whoops! I requested two on netgalley the other day. Half of me is hoping I get turned down haha.
I really need to catch up with the Holly Black series. Why oh why am I so behind.
LOL
Lynn π
Probably the same reason I’m behind on 87 other series π This is such a fun one though, I’m so excited for the last book but also hoping it ends okay (maybe that’s why I’m so bad at finishing them haha).
Queen of Nothing really sounds like a good one! AND LOOK AT THAT COVERRR!!!! oh so so sooo prettyyyy!! β€οΈβ€οΈπππππ
I’m so excited for it!!
YAYYY!! I cant wait to read your review of it then! β€οΈπ
π
You’re so organised!! I mean… we all need a catch up week but you seem to approach yours with a solid plan in place. Mine is more like a guessing game of what I still need to do haha π Jen
Thanks, haha. Usually my plans don’t go that smoothly though LOL. I think it’s also because I haven’t had a free weekend in over a month so I felt like I had to have a plan on what I wanted to get done during all that free time. π
I hope you enjoy Queen of Nothing! It’s so exciting yet bittersweet to see the ending of a series. π
Thanks! Yep, I’m almost sad to start it but also super excited lol.
I can’t wait for Queen of Nothing as well! That second-book cliffhanger was beyond cruel…π
Yes! I have so much to do when I get home but I also think I’m probably going right for my package and tearing into it, hopefully it’s been delivered when I get there, LOL
Good job getting caught up! Itβs hard to do once you fall behind. I still need to get to the rest of Pierce Brownβs books- but Iβm looking forward to it. (Im taking emotionally destroyed to be a good thing here.)
For sure, I’m still a bit behind but not as bad as before. This is all playing catch up from a month ago too!
Yes, emotional destroyed is a good thing. I mean, there’s been some wailing but I can’t say this book has been boring. π
Looks like you had a good week! I love plans-free weekends too. My favorite! Happy reading. β₯οΈ
Thanks! It was pretty good overall! Plans free weekends are the best. π
