This Week in Reading: Nothing’s Gonna Break My Stride

Finally started catching up on some reading this past week, although it was still hard squeezing in reading time when I was busy catching up on things from last weekend and doing so many activities. The only good thing about winter coming is that some of those activities should wind down a bit once we get past the holidays and I’ll be able to go on long reading binges yay. Ahem.

Anywho. I managed to finish two books–one on audio and one in print–as well as a manga (vol 20 of Yona of the Dawn came in and my obsession continues). Not a bad week all things considered. This coming week will be busy again, Baltimore Book Festival this weekend! I’ve seen most of these authors before but it will be fun to hang out and also meet the few new faces. It’s indoors this year so I don’t have to worry about the weather at least.

I’m currently about 20% through ‘Salem’s Lot by Stephen King, enjoying it so far. I’m wondering when it’s going to get more creepy, but since it’s King I know it’ll kick in eventually. I expect to finish this one up before the end of the week.

Next up in print is Siege & Sacrifice by Charlie N. Holmberg. This is the third and final book in the Numina trilogy. Very much looking forward to how this series wraps up! Also, yay, finishing a series, woot! (I need to do that more often.)

If I finish ‘Salem’s Lot I might start Spin the Dawn by Elizabeth Lim. Or I might finally dig into the new one in the Red Rising series. Not sure yet. We’ll see what I’m in the mood for. I should be able to finish up Siege & Sacrifice pretty quickly (these books are fast reads). Not sure what my next print read will be yet. I probably should dive into another review request, but I might go with something different. Mood reading!

What are your plans this week? Got any great books on deck? Leave a note in the comments, I’d love to chat!

Yay for winter! I totally agree…and it’s my favorite time to read. Hope you end up loving ‘Salem’s Lot. I honestly haven’t read enough Steven King. I started The Outsider and ended up returning it to the library. Now I see they’re making a TV series adaptation, so hoping to finish the book first.

Have a great week and happy reading!

It’s a nice time to cozy up with a book. :
I’ve read probably about 10 or so books by King. When he’s good, he’s very good. I enjoy a lot of his short fiction and novellas.
Thanks, hope you have a great week too!

I read Salem’s Lot way long ago so I don’t remember much. Although for some reason I remember it having some sex scenes and being shocked at the time (I was in high school when I read it) Or I could be remembering that wrong! I’m almost finished with The Twisted Ones and loving it!

Lol, I’ve definitely encountered at least one sex scene, but it wasn’t graphic. He spends more time commenting on women’s breasts, at least so far. 🙄😂
Looking forward to your thoughts on The Twisted Ones!

Looking forward to your full review of THE NAME OF ALL THINGS, really looking forward to that book myself when I get around to it lol. Hope you have fun with Sci-Fi Month! If I hadn’t been involved in other things I would have joined in on that one.

Salem’s Lot was my very first vampire book, and I still think about it as THE vampire book, even though memory has become more than a little frayed around the edges… Maybe it’s time for me to re-acquaint myself with this story… 🙂

I think I have The Deep in my TBR somewhere….lol. Enjoy! Yeah, I really love the covers for this series, they’re all pretty interersting. Thanks, I’m sure I’ll have a good time, just hoping I get through the night without any further stomach issues, if not I might have to skip it. *crosses fingers*
