This Week in Reading: A Tiny Bit of Progress

Hi all! Guess what??? I finally finished a print book for the first time in what feels like weeks (although it’s probably only been about two or two and a half but still!). The worst is that I loved the book, but still had issues with finding the motivation to read at all. Hopefully I’ll be able to read this week! *fingers crossed*  Anywho, I enjoyed The Girl With No Face a lot and hope to have a review up soon-ish.

I feel like I’m still really behind on reading, and I’m definitely behind on blogging stuff, but it looks like I’m holding it together so it’s all good, right? Heh.

Anywho, finally a couple of new books on my list this week!

First up, I’m going to be reading Master of the World by Edward Willett. This looks like an interesting book and I’m very much looking forward to diving into it. This is one where I don’t have any expectations so I think whatever I find will be a surprise, and hopefully a delight!

Next up is Dreams of the Dark Sky by Tina LeCount Myers, still have this one on my list but was pushed back slightly due to all my reading issues in the last couple of weeks. Enjoyed the first book, looking forward to the sequel. 🙂

In audiobook-land, I’m currently in the middle of The Ten Thousand Doors of January by Alix E. Harrow. I’m really loving this book so far. The story within a story, worlds within worlds. The style of storytelling is fantastic, so is the prose. Hoping to finish this one up early in the week.

Next in audio will be Slayer by Kiersten White. This is a novel that takes place in the Buffy universe and I’m reading it for my media tie-in square for my r/fantasy book bingo card (I added an extra layer to the challenge by trying to do all vampire themed books). Hoping I have fun with this one! It’s a pretty short listen so I’m hoping I’ll be able to finish it up by the end of the week and move onto my next book, whatever that will be.

So, those are my plans for this week. Hoping I can make good on them. What are you reading this week? Leave a note in the comments, I’d love to chat!

I feel so far behind too. I have an ARC that released September 3rd I’m only about 25% of the way through, Quichotte by Salman Rushdie, I have an egalley I still need to start that released Sept 17, I have two books to get through before the end of September for a readathon I’m doing, about 40% of the way through that, and another book that releases Oct 1 I haven’t even started.

Trust me- I feel your pain. Just do what you can and read/listen to whatever is grabbing you the most!

I have a couple of books I was sent for review, unsolicited, which I still feel obligated to even though I didn’t ask for them. And one ARC that is about a week behind. So not too bad as far as obligations but my own self-imposed goals…..lol.
Thanks! Definitely still trucking along as best as I can. 🙂
