When I came across this tag at Reader Voracious, I couldn’t help but pick it up because it’s such a fun concept for a tag! Who wouldn’t want a chance to go on a bookish adventure? I mean…as long as you could always get back home at some point. 🙂
Rules:
Imagine that you are an intrepid literary adventurer- braving the harsh bookish wilderness, traversing jungles of pages and slashing through vines of words. Where in the vast world of books would you go?
- Write about one place mentioned in a book you wish you could visit and why.
- List 3-5 things that you would do there.
- Mention which souvenirs, if any, you would bring back with you.

My dream bookish destination
This is a tough one because there are so many fantastical places I would love to visit. I would go with Harry Potter’s world if a) I were young enough to attend Hogwarts and b) a wizard. But since I am neither of those things, let’s see. Hmm, this is also tough because so many fantasy worlds are dangerous places to be–scary monsters and political revolutions and such. 😀
Oh! I wouldn’t mind visiting the world of The Goblin Emperor! That seems like a, relatively, nice enough place, considering the alternatives.
Things I would do
I’d probably go on a bit of a tour, maybe ride in an airship, see if I could get in to explore the palace. Maybe I’d even be lucky enough to be presented to the emperor! Depending how long my stay is, I wouldn’t mind making a few friends while I’m there. And if for some reason my portal closes up and I can’t make it back home maybe I can get a job at the palace because it seems like an interesting place to work.
Souvenirs
Probably something cool from the clock maker’s guild. I hear they make all sorts of mechanized wonders. 🙂
