Well, last week I didn’t have as great as a week in reading as I hoped but I did still manage to get some reading done. I finished up King of Scars by Leigh Bardugo, and Purls and Potions (Vampire Knitting Club #5) by Nancy Warren.
I didn’t get much reading done because for about a week and a half I really wasn’t feeling well. I had a strange pain in my side (which turned out to be nothing) but it set off my anxiety really bad and I kept thinking I was on the verge of having a heart attack until I went to the doctors and had myself looked at. So, I spent most of last week in a state of constant anxiety, which culminated in me having an actual panic attack on the way to the doctor’s and almost passing out in the waiting room because I had worked myself up so much. Long story short–anxiety is stupid.
This weekend I was feeling much better, but it was pretty busy so I didn’t get much reading in, except for a little bit on Sunday. Obviously I still have a lot of catching up to do. I’m also behind on writing reviews still and now have about thirteen sitting in my drafts folder. Trying not to worry about any of this, stuff will get done when it gets done.
Going to try and catch up on stuff again this week but we’ll see what happens. I have an after work event on Tuesday and I also have a ton of stuff to get done around my house.
So, I’m still working my way through Sisters of the Fire by Kim Wilkins. Really didn’t make much progress on this one, unfortunately. But I’m hoping to sneak in as much reading time at work as I can to finish it up. 😀
On Sunday I started Cast in Oblivion by Michelle Sagara. I love this series! It’s so much fun to be back in the world of Elantra. This one has lots of political maneuvering which is one of my favorite things, so I think it’s going to be a great read for me.
After finishing up King of Scars I started Illuminae by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff, the first of the Illuminae Files. I have to say, listening to the audio the book reminds me a lot of These Broken Stars (also by Amie Kaufman). I’m only about an hour in but really looking forward to getting deeper into this one because it’s pretty interesting so far.
Those are my tentative plans for this week. What is everyone else reading? Leave me a note in the comments, I’d love to hear from you!
