This Week in Reading: Manga Marathon

This past week I finished off a few books, but I’m still behind if I want to make it to my goal of 200 before the year ends. I’ve also got a ton of reviews to catch up on and other year end type posts to work on, as well as a couple of book tags. This weekend was actually a perfect opportunity for getting things done but I squandered Saturday reading and watching Netflix thinking I’d have Sunday but then my husband stayed home instead of going out to watch football so we spent the day marathoning one of my favorite kdramas instead (whoops!)

I am planning on binge reading my Sailor Moon manga volumes this week, finally. I’ve been a huge Sailor Moon fan ever since it first showed on North American television back in the 90’s. I have kind of read the manga, but a real long time ago, text translations from back in the day. It’s been a really long time. When they re-released a newer translation of the manga here in the US a few years ago I snatched them up, but still haven’t read them so now is a good time to dive in! Also, last week one of my best and oldest friends (we actually became friends because of Sailor Moon) messaged me that he bought us tickets to see the live musical when they come to the US in the Spring!! I’m so excited! Woohoo!

Other things I’ll be reading this week…

I’ve started an eARC I’ve received of Lovestruck by Kate Watson. This one is a YA novel about the daughter of Eros and Psyche accidentally matching herself with boy from an Arizona high school. So far it’s just as fun and light as I’d hoped it would be!

I also started The Spirit Rebellion by Rachel Aaron in audio. This is the second of her Eli Monpress series, and I’m enjoying it so far. The first one was good but not what I’ve come to expect from Aaron’s writing, so I’m hoping I see some growth from her in this next volume. ๐Ÿ™‚ย  I’ll probably finish this one up pretty fast and if I do I’m not exactly sure what audio I’m diving into next…

I also plan on finally getting to Mage Against the Machine by Shaun Barger. This book is promising action and adventure and I’m really hoping it lives up to that, as well as the terrific pun title. Looking forward to finally getting a chance to dive into it and see what it’s all about.

So, those are my loose plans for this week. What’s everyone else reading? Leave me a note in the comments, I’d love to hear from you!

I used to watch Sailor Moon! I had no idea there was a musical, that’s got to be a lot of fun. Wow, 200 books is pretty impressive, good luck hitting your goal๐Ÿ˜

Oh, there have been a BUNCH of live action musicals. There was also at least one live action TV show as well iirc. Last year there was a fathom event to see the Sailor Stars musical in theaters and that was pretty fun so I’m really excited to see one of the musicals live in person! It should be a really fun time. ๐Ÿ˜€
