As the last child in a family of daughters, seventeen-year-old Janneke was raised to be the male heir. While her sisters were becoming wives and mothers, she was taught to hunt, track, and fight. On the day her village was burned to the ground, Janneke—as the only survivor—was taken captive by the malicious Lydian and eventually sent to work for his nephew Soren.
Janneke’s survival in the court of merciless monsters has come at the cost of her connection to the human world. And when the Goblin King’s death ignites an ancient hunt for the next king, Soren senses an opportunity for her to finally fully accept the ways of the brutal Permafrost. But every action he takes to bring her deeper into his world only shows him that a little humanity isn’t bad—especially when it comes to those you care about.
Through every battle they survive, Janneke’s loyalty to Soren deepens. After dangerous truths are revealed, Janneke must choose between holding on or letting go of her last connections to a world she no longer belongs to. She must make the right choice to save the only thing keeping both worlds from crumbling.
I think this one was previously self-published before getting picked up by a traditional publisher and I missed it the first time around. This one sounds like it’s right up my alley and I’m looking forward to it! Also, love that cover. White Stag is set to be released from Wednesday Books on January 8th, 2019.
This story sounds epic! And that cover is gorgeous, great choice😊
I love the cover to this one so much!
Yes, I love the sound of this one too and intend to read it.
Lynn 😀
Hope you enjoy!
YES this looks so good!! I’m always reminded of Harry’s patronus when I look at the cover lol!
Yes! I had the same thought! Lol
I snagged a copy of this when it was on offer from NetGalley in one of those “first 50 people to click gets to read now” sort of emails, so it was a complete impulse request! It does look good though, and the cover is gorgeous, so it tempted me for a reason! I hope we’ll both love it 😀
Oh nice! Yeah, definitely hope you enjoy!
This sounds really cool- I actually like when books get picked up from indie origins 🙂
Yeah, I really am digging the premise on this one. 🙂
This is on my radar too! I’m will read all and any books that feature stags. 😀 And on a completely different note, I can’t seem to see more than 2 posts on your homepage when I’m not using the wordpress reader??
Yeah, I don’t know what’s up with my layout. Sometimes the site acts weird but usually if you refresh or something it goes back to normal. I’m planning on doing a total makeover at some point early next year so hopefully that will fix any issues. Until then, argh.
This is on my TBR too. Come on 2019!
Right? Although I think it will be here before we know it! lol
