Oooh, another Halloween themed book tag! I just couldn’t resist doing this one since I love Halloween so much. Thanks to The Orangutan Librarian for tagging me in this one!

Witch: A magical character or book
It’s even in the title!
Werewolf: The perfect book to read at night
This is a really beautiful take on the Beauty and Beast tale. Perfect for night because it’s a little bit cozy and a pretty quick read. I think I actually did read this one at night!
Frankenstein: A book that truly shocked you
Not once, not even twice, but about five or six times building up to the end. Had to pick my jaw up off the floor when I finished this one.
The Devil: A dark or evil character
Damn you, Regal. Damn you to hell!
Grim Reaper: A character that never should have died
I’m in total agreement with The Orangutan Librarian’s choice for this one! I’m still mad about this death. 😦
Zombie: A book that made you hungry for more
Love this series! So excited for the third book. So. Excited. Come on, 2019.
Gargoyle: A character that you would protect at all cost
Lex. And Dodd. Krista, you better not hurt my babies and they better be getting a happily ever after. I’m just sayin.
Vampire: A book that sucked the life out of you
I wanted to like this one because it seemed like something I would love, but it was just…not for me. The main character was pretty annoying and had no real growth. There was a lot of telling us that she changed but she actually never changed! Ugh.
Ghost: A book that still haunts you
This book is so damn good and has so much horrific stuff in it and it’s horrific because it’s taken from history and it was really, really hard to read at times. I’m still thinking on it and it’s been months.
Demon: A book that really scared you
Literally couldn’t sleep at night because I was too scared. Damn that topiary garden scene!!!
Skeleton: A character you have a bone to pick with
Oh, America. Where do I even start with you? Actually, wait. All the characters in this. Yeah. (Don’t get me wrong, these books were a fun ride….but seriously.)
Mummy: A book you would preserve throughout time
Not a fantasy novel, but I really love this one. This is the first in a series of historical fiction novels that takes place during the middle ages featuring a woman doctor solving crimes through forensic pathology. The story is really compelling and Peter Beagle is a fan so it’s fantasy adjacent, right?
Creepy Doll: A cover too scary to look at
NOPE.
As always, not going to tag anyone, but if you feel like filling this out please consider yourself tagged! 🙂
I feel like I might have a copy of Mistress of the Art of Death, I may have to search my bookshelves today, it sounds so good!
I really enjoyed the entire series!
I still need to read practical magic- but yes the clue’s in the title 😉 I’m curious about heart’s blood as well. And damn Regal!! Yeah I’ll always be upset about the death in crooked kingdom. Ah yes so agree with you about America!! Awesome answers! Glad you did this!
Practical Magic was a little different tone from the movie, but still loved it. Heart’s Blood was just a lovely book, I’ve really come to love Marillier’s writing.
Thanks, I had a lot of fun with it! 🙂
Mistress of the Art of Death is intriguing me very much, I enjoy historical fiction and a woman solving crime through forensics is interesting indeed.
Lynn 😀
It’s one of my favorites. And if nothing else, Peter Beagle recommends it as well. 🙂
Yes! Damn Regal for all he did and for heightening hatred of the Witted folk in Buckkeep.
That topiary garden scene in the Shining freaked me out too.
Regal made me throw the second book across the room at one point! Ugh, that guy is the worst!
Lol! Totally understand. He annoyed me too and I wanted him to exit the story earlier than he did.
