Well, last week I didn’t get as much reading accomplished as I wanted so I still have Demon Haunted by Ashe Armstrong to get to this week. This is a weird western and should be pretty fun!
I’m almost finished up with House of Many Ways by Diana Wynne Jones on audio. So far this has been lovely. The main protagonist, Charmain, just wants to be left alone to read. I can relate! Also, Sophie and Howl make an appearance and I had to just laugh at Howl’s antics. Ah, poor Sophie, putting up with such nonsense. 🙂
This week, Starless by Jacqueline Carey comes out! I’ve been so excited for this book. I almost accidentally pre-ordered it twice. Anywho, I’ve only read Carey’s Kushiel’s Legacy books (the first and last trilogies) and part of her Sundering Duology, but I love her writing and I’ve always meant to read more. This one sounds great and I really hope that it lives up to my expectations.
I have the sixth Dresden Files book by Jim Butcher, Blood Rites, checked out from my library in audio format so I’ll be getting to that next. Harry’s story really starts picking up in books four and five in my opinion. These are fun and fast reads and I’m going through them a lot quicker than I expected to–I may even catch up to the series before the end of the year!
Finally, another book releasing this week is A Reaper at the Gates by Sabaa Tahir. This is the latest in her Ember series. I quite like this series, even though I thought parts of the first one were a bit dry. I like the way she’s developed the characters over the first two books though and I’m looking forward to reading this next installment. I pre-ordered this one on audible so I should be able to at least start it before the week is up.
Another ambitious week, we’ll see how it goes. 🙂 What is everyone else reading this week? Leave a message in the comments, I’d love to hear from you! Happy reading!
