New Arrivals!

Recently I stopped in at one of the local new/used book stores that I love. It’s been a while since I’ve been there because due to circumstances they had to move locations at the end of last year. The new location is closer but much smaller. Still, I managed to find some books anyway! Of course, if I walked out of a bookstore without at least one book then something is seriously wrong.

The first book on the stack, Song of Unmaking by Caitlin Brennan (aka Judith Tarr), is the second in a series. Such is the life when shopping at used book stores. But I thought this one looked interesting enough to pick up. I’ll have to find the first one at some point.

I picked up Karen Memory by Elizabeth Bear because I’ve heard great things about it and I’ve been meaning to read it for a while. Now it’s officially part of Mt. TBR, huzzah!

I’ve already read In the Labyrinth of Drakes by Marie Brennan but that was on audio and I’d like to have a physical copy of all the books. The covers are so very lovely after all.

The last two books are by Charles de Lint–Dreams Underfoot and Widdershins. I haven’t read anything from Charles de Lint for years but I’ve always meant to catch up on some of his works. I remember being very fond of The Little Country.

My husband also bought me these socks. I love him forever. ❤

Those socks are so perfect, love them. I’ve been meaning to pick up some Elizabeth Bear books as well, I’ve heard particularly good things about Karen Memory. I love the Lady Trent books and totally agree that they deserve to be owned as physical copies. Looks like a great day of book purchases!

The covers for the Brennan books are like works of art. I would definitely frame a set and have them on my walls. I want those socks! And Widdershins. I’ve only read one book by Charles deLint but I did enjoy it and had every intention of reading more – the best laid plans, etc, etc.
    Lynn 😀
